Is historical moment defined as a historical moment in the real world that is also represented in canon?
A historical moment needs to be a 'big event' in history that gets changed.
For example, you're SPN right? So maybe for alt. history: historical moment changed, you do that the South won the Civil War. How does that butterfly out and effect Sam and Dean etc?
But maybe you're not in a fandom where the 'real world' is the basis. Maybe in - um, say Star Wars - your alt. history: historical moment changed is that the Jedi never got wiped out.
a 'canon event' is different from a 'historical moment'A historical canon event would be an event set 'pre-canon'. While historical moment needs to be a big event, historical canon event could be something small and character specific. (It could be a big event, but it doesn't have to be

Could I use a prompt that's already on my card for the wild card square prompt? Obivously I couldn't use one story for both prompts. But if I have "Alternate Canon" on my card, could my wild card story still be "Alternate Canon" or do I have to chose something not on my bingo card for wild card?
Yes you can. Wild Card is up to you -- it can be a prompt already on your card, a prompt off the list that's not on your card, or something we didn't include on the list. Whatever you'd like to do
But, if you want to veto more than five prompts, we'll work with you. So if in your sign up thread you say "veto models, fae / faeries and all historical prompts", we'll definitely do our best to get you a card that works for you.
Coolness. Thank you; this could help a lot. I'm a podficcer, so I'm limited by what other people have written, which can be challenging. I'll ponder the options. :-)
Just looked at the new prompt list - nice! Great to see that the Historical prompts seem a little more free-form than the previous one. Quick question... what seperates 'Alternate Planets' and 'Parallel Worlds' in the Sci-Fi section from the various others? Is it saying that you have characters aware of alternate universes or what?
Either could be interpreted in a variety of ways. They're sort of generalised prompts -- your characters could be from an alternate planet or maybe they discover a planet where everyone looks just like them! Maybe it's a 'Sliders' type world, or something like the Quantum Mirror from Stargate and they can jump between parallel worlds. Maybe someone time-travels and creates a parallel world / timeline. Maybe you have an awesome idea for a parallel world / alternate universe that wasn't covered by the rest of the prompts you got on your card - it could probably count under this prompt (You can email us if you've got a specific idea that you want to double check with us)

canon historical event changed - something from "precanon" went differently
