It 's been raining here all week. I really like the rain. I fully understand that gray, rainy weather makes me appreciate sunny days even more, but Jesus, this has been like 9 days of gray weather. My brain can only produce so much serotonin. Anyway, it's supposed to be perfect on Sunday and I plan to spend all day outside.
I stopped at the garden on my way home from work. We may not have a lot of veggies growing but there is some progress and we do seem to have a nice healthy crop of weeds. Maybe we should let the dandelions grow for super bitter salads? Anyway, I did a tiny bit of weeding while sinking ankle deep in the mud. It makes me feel really good to have muddy shoes--just one more thing that separates me from the yuppies. Then I walked home, found a new route home and saw some luscious-looking honeysuckle.
The new route was so desolate it seemed abandoned. One or two cars passed me and I never could figure out where they were coming from. Here's the thing about taking the road less traveled in Northeast DC: by taking the road less traveled you put yourself at higher risk of being attacked by cunt-hating men, or criminals.
