Background (100 words or more): Balthazar knew from a fairly young age that he was different from other children his age, but he didn't know why. He knew that was able to influence them to do things, without much effort at all. Once he perfected the skill, it was as simple as implanting a thought in their mind and watching the results. It didn't take long for him to figure out how to use this to his advantage, and he did. He was in high school when his mother finally told him the truth about his birth. His father, it turned out, was a demon. Being such, he couldn't cross over into the mortal plane, so he brought a mortal woman to his plane and produced a child with her, to increase Lucifer's influence on earth. While he was glad to know the truth at last, Balthazar was also angry at his father, who had turned both him and his mother into essentially pawns. After finishing school, he attended university at one of the illustrious institutions in his country of birth, and then relocated to the United States to attend Harvard Law School. He found himself mostly dealing with divorces and the like, since he found himself drawn to the misery and drama that often came along with those. Currently he is embroiled in a bitter battle with a well-known demon hunter. Or at least he was until the demon hunter sent him back to Hell.
Personality (100 words or more): To most people, he's cold and uncaring, but to the few who know him best, that's just the way the two halves of his heritage combine. Most of the time the demon half wins out. While he doesn't necessarily cause suffering, he revels in its effects. He enjoys toying with the emotions of others, and seeing how far he can push them before they break. When it suits him, he's also been known to influence the actions of others, playing off of their obsessions and addictions. Sometimes his human side will win out, but these times are rare and he hardly knows how to act anymore when that happens. Most people see him as off putting and tend to avoid him.
