I was in a pretty good mood this morning, even though I had to work at a different Starbucks and felt completely useless and out of sorts there bc I didn't know where anything was and they have a weird way of doing things, but that was all rectified when I left with my venti iced coffee into the sunny and almost-warm last day of February.
But then I got to my internship. While my boss went to lunch, I took the opportunity to send my resume and cover letter to Houghton Mifflin, where they actually pay their interns, to apply for a summer position. I'm crossing my fingers for that one. But like every seemingly too-good-to-be true thing, this probably won't happen for me either. When I was done with that, it was time to start on my project for the day--reorganizing the "library". This involves lugging piles of old books across the office and arranging, then rearranging shelf after shelf alphabetically. Also, it's about 80 degrees in here and I'm wearing snowboots and a turtleneck sweater. Needless to say, I'm a little hot. After I finish this amazing and oh-so-informative task, I get to print out hundreds of labels to stick on file folders. I'm learning so much about the publishing industry!! It's like this every time I come here. I'm getting more and more frustrated with the state of affairs in my life, on just about every level.
I just had to get this out before I scream.
