I spent the better part of today working on cleaning my room. I went through all of my books, and decided to get rid of 60 of them. Those are just the ones I'm getting rid of--I'm keeping the majority of the ones I have...so, I'm definitely going to have to bring one of my bookcases with me. I feel really sweaty and dirty and gross because it's so muggy out and my room is pretty much a disaster. Besides the books (which are still taking up a lot of space in my room because i need to figure out a way of transporting them en masse to the library or a used bookstore that will accept them), I got rid of about 5 trash bags full of assorted junk. The scary thing is that I still have to go through my massive desk, my nightstand, and my 4 big boxes full of random memoribilia stuff that I've kept for the past 10 years--postcards, ticketstubs, letters, programs, etc. etc. I love that kind of stuff, but I'm not feeling up to the task of sorting through it and trying to pare it down to one or two hatboxes.
I went to see Little Miss Sunshine last night--great great movie. It was genuinely funny, and the story was engaging, and the actors all did a commendable job. Also, the little girl in it is ADORABLE. The music for the entire film is by DeVotchka--they are so awesome. If you haven't heard them yet, give them a listen. They also did all the music for the film version of Everything is Illuminated.
I took a little break today to go see Amanda's new apartment in Providence--it's definitely cute. We got some yummy sushi and lattes on Wickendon, and then I returned to my room for more cleaning. Now I think I'm done for the day, and I'm going to paint my nails and perhaps watch Pride and Prejudice with my sister.
Things are falling into place. A little. This week is my last week at work, and then I think Tom and I might go to New Hampshire next weekend. I am really excited, because we've never taken an overnight trip, just the two of us. It will be a nice getaway before school and moving and everything else.
