i got two new shirts made out of bamboo and they are so soft so soft
I have largely been avoiding MOST of my normal internets because I am 1) reading A Dance With Dragons like a fiend and b) trying to avoid accidentally spoiling myself for A Dance With Dragons LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING FIEND.
But now I am about four-fifths of the way through, and I mostly expect to finish tonight, so I'm feeling safe enough to venture my toes back in. and if there is anyone who is itching to talk about the book in a very careful-of-spoilers-in-both-directions way...because oh jesus oh jesus oh jesus oh jesus
(tho i am still not going back on tumblr until i am DONE DONE DONE because i don't trust myself at all)
ANYWAY, things that have been going on with me that are not GRRM related:
The weekend before last I went to wedding out in Wisconsin and it was lovely. I am pretty anti-wedding as a general rule and am also not so much of a sappy person, but even my cold bitter heart got a little verklempt. Mostly having to do with seeing people I care about being so stupidly happy aww, but there you are.
(I also discovered what the "Mosquito Belt" means, as we wound up with at least 10-15 mosquitoes in our rental car due to the Terrible Lapse In Judgement that was holding the door open long enough to sit down inside the car. I think I am actually still scratching bites.)
AND NOW, this weekend coming up, we are going to California for the SO's grandmother's 90th birthday. Which means, apparently, [SO] Family Reunion Tiems!!! if i inevitably snap i can totally hide from the cops with one of y'all, right? right? But no, it'll be good, because I really do love the SO's grandmother. She's one rad lady, and it's pretty awesome that we get to do this for her.
Unfortunately, we're going to be in the SanFran area. Not unfortunately because of SanFran, I love SanFran, but because I was kiiiiiiiiiiiind of hoping to be at least a leetle closer to San Diego, in case I needed to take a Retaining My Grip On My Feelings~ break and skip out to people-watch on the outskirts of SDCC. But alas! It is not to be so. :(
Hopefully soon I'll be able to squeeze in some crabs. It feels really long being this far into July and not having had crabs yet.
