This is one of the most eye-opening, yet hilarious, things I think I have seen in a long time... though I don't completely agree with the racism bit. Kanye West uses his oppurtunity to help Katrina victims to also open people's eyes to Bush. Though at the end, I would've changed my words from "...about black people" to "...about the poor". Cause

This has had me irrate since I heard about this (I think it might have been Saturday night). I hate it when celebrities THINK they know what they're talking about, and if he FEELS GWB "doesn't like black people," he can by God say that - but I feel it was entirely out of context.
As far as the Michael Moore letter on your Myspace, I almost whole heartedly agree with John and applaud him for his comments. It's nice to see a democrat who isn't throwing stones at Bush for the FUCKING HURRICANE. I am so tired of the DEMOCRATS politicizing this NATURAL DISASTER in to being Bush's fault because the MAYOR didn't place a mandatory evacuation until 20 hours before the hurricane hit. Yet for some reason it is our President's fault.
I could go on for hours but I'm sure I've probably pissed you as well as the rest of my democrat friends off - but I have been stewing in it for too long. I'm just happy you somewhat agree with the whole Kanye West being foolish in saying that GWB "doesn't like black people."
Sorry for the rant (but I feel so much better). I'm sure I'm going to spark lots of hate messages toward me now.

My thing with giving Bush a little blame for not caring for the poor extends way past the hurricane, all the way back to before he was elected. I know the Katrina situation is sticky at best, and I don't blame anyone for a natural disaster. Please understand that. It is the response and the principles that I choose to analyze and argue. This is America, we are supposed to do that if we feel that it is necessary.
I in NO WAY found Kanye West's comments to be well-timed or in any shape or form condusive to the situation. I actually found it to be offensive for him to say that and make it that kind of situation on TV when the Red Cross was trying to do something much more helpful. But just as we are, West was expressing his opinion (in a classy way or not) and I think it is very interesting that a President has risen such a stink.
Look Andrea... I personally have always wished that there wasn't a Democrat/Republican split in this nation. I hate the fact that it is almost like two countries in one that way. I hate that. Because I think we could get so much more done as a country if we had less spliting going on than we do. I am registered Independent, and I honestly look at both sides before I make any strong opinions on a topic.
My problem with the whole thing is that people were throwing rocks at Clinton for cheating on his wife, but no one died for a questionable cause in that situation... and he almost got impeached. Bush has been more protested than any other president in HISTORY... and we have had many presidents who took us to war in similar manners. I just like to research why this is what it is. That's all.
So no, I am not mad, I am not frustrated, and definately not pissed off for you expressing your opinion. I am actually happy that you felt the need to respond, and I wish more people felt that need as well. Take care!

Okay so that was my rant about why I get so defensive around democrats.
But on the West thing, I heard many people called in and repealed their donation after he said what he did. That is terrible, that they were ultimately taking it out on the people who are homeless, hungry, and have no inkling of what was said...but it just goes to show you the influence of celebrities. Sad.

By the way, I will openly admit that Kerry wasn't exactly my top choice for President back in the day... he just wasn't Bush. And I know you like Bush and what not, but I just don't like the guy. I've never been a big church person, and since he likes to throw Christian beliefs into the American governing ways, I think he is selfish for that. This isn't a Christian country. Even if the majority is Christian, based on the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, we are not. That is the beauty of this country, and I think we need to keep church and state seperated.
BUT... people have different motives and desires, and if yours match up with Bush's agendas, than so be it. That is your choice as a citizen, as it is mine, and everyone else who is a legal American.
PS- I hate political bumperstickers PERIOD... since when were you driving down the road, see a political bumpersticker, and say to yourself "OH man! I never thought about voting for him!!" lol I will never put one on my car. (Plus, they get outdated pretty quickly... hahaha)
Talk to ya soon, yo.
