[ Locked to oldcardigans. Kingdom of Rust. ]

[ The house is thrown into chaos the minute Charles' absence is noted. Erik is pulled away from warping sheets of metal by a pale-faced Raven, grip tight on his arm, sparking a flare of untempered panic within his centre. He shakes his head at her questions, a curious numbness spreading throughout, no, of course he hasn't seen him, because Erik is a coward and keeps to himself, creating something useful instead of dealing with the way his own hands have bruised everything.

For a moment he thinks of nothing but the bracelet tucked away upstairs. It would have been easy to hone in on that, because he is familiar with it, gave it with this express ideal in mind. How he hadn't noticed Charles going anywhere is worrying, and for a moment his mind riffles through every threat he knows. CIAHUMANSOTHERMUTANTSFAILEDTO- before he breathes in, shrugs out of Raven's grasp to concentrate. He needs to do this more, he knows that, for it takes too long to hone in to the metal in Charles' chair. Still on the grounds, which would imply that Charles himself has taken the decision upon himself to go out of the house. Erik calms Raven with a palm on her back, words low, before he's striding through the house like something silent and dark.

His jacket still hangs on the door, and Erik summons it via the keys in his pocket, the zipper all the way up the leather, slips into it even as he's heading out. Outside used to be his realm when training, and the air is cool in his lungs as he walks across the grass, down to where the lake sits. Charles is a dark blur on the horizon, and Erik feels guilty for breaking into the quiet. Only for a moment, he tells himself, lies to make it feel all right. Only for a moment because his pulse is pounding unhappy in his veins and he hadn't noticed.

As he comes over to him. ] Hello, Charles.
