Fall had finally caught up to New York, and though the summer had threatened to stay around for all of August, most of September, October was in full swing and a chill had hit the breeze. Never one to enjoy the long winters that hit back home, Jay had found herself digging out sweaters and jackets the first night it hit below fifty. That was a week ago, and she had yet to fully de-layer herself since.
If it was up to her, she would stay in bed under her covers until some time next May, but unfortunately, (very, very unfortunatly) there was training to be done, and for Jay- that meant she had to be outside.
Though the temperature was up in the mid-sixties, Jay was wearing a cannibalized sweater (or three) with holes cut so as to allow her wings to pop out of the back, a scarf about her neck. She was doing sprints on the ground, followed by the same distance in air. It was an idea of her own design, and god only knows if it actually did anything besides working up a sweat. It was on the terrestrial that she took her tumble, a misplaced foot and a faceplant later that Jay fell. Gripping her knee and torn hose as she sat back up, she began to curse herself, the rock and wait for the blood to slow the hell down.
