The trip there had been awkward enough, driving with Sean, but knowing that Angel wasn't far behind. With her flying above them it was difficult to not stress. And the situation itself was bad enough already. How was he going to do this?
He wasn't ready for this. It was a conversation he wasn't sure he could have with her. After the way he'd left things with her and Sean, he wasn't sure he could fix this. Not if she'd run to another state and practically agreed to marry another man.
He could only hope that Jay answered the door, not him.
Raising a hand, Alex knocked on the door and sighed, waiting.
