Like he *hadn't* dealt with shit like this before? Gunn didn't like the tone of the blond girls voice. She hadn't struck him as a snob of any kind, but that kinda sounded like it. No biggie, yeah, he knew that. Except when things went over your head and it did turn into a biggie.

Whatever, he didn't have to deal with crap like that no more. If the two witches wanted to go poltergeist huntin' then more power to em. Gunn was gonna stick with those he knew for now. Which in this case would be tradin' insults with Spike. Not that he knew the vampire as well as he knew the rest of them people from AI, but better then the three girls.

At least with a guy you kinda knew what to expect, vampire or no.

Shakin' his head he turned away from Willow and Tara as they crept up the stairs. If they were so good, then there was no need for him to worry about any thumpin' or whatever was there? Instead he casually walked over to Spike. He'd watched the witch use magic with this casual ease that made him all kinds of edgy.

"Yo Spike, come in," he said, realizin' no one had invited the poor fucker in yet. "They usually like that?" he added, jerkin' his head toward the two witches while he glanced at this Slayer chick. "And should they be playin' up there on their lonesome?"

Buffy had been looking up towards the noise. Willow and Tara had theories about what it was and wasn't. Meanwhile, she thought she heard Spike's voice. She'd moved to look up the staircase, not sure what she'd find. There was nothing there.

Then she turned around just as Tara and Willow went past her, almost in a trance, going up the stairs. And Gunn was...talking to himself? No. There was a burst of smoke that had entered the room, and it wasn't just dusty daylight. It was because of the daylight. "Spike. Hi, I didn't hear you - the thumping..." She walked over towards him. She wasn't sure if it would be weird for Gunn to see this couple together again, knowing that Gunn was tight with Angel and her and Angel had lots of history. She wasn't sure how to read Gunn. She smiled to Spike, not stepping forward to hug him like she wanted. It'd probably take away his manly credentials or something, anyway. Xander had tried to tell her about that, before.

"Guess you got my text?"

Buffy didn't hear any thumping for a moment. "Either that's good cause they got whatever it is. Or bad...cause it got them. Um..." She felt weird about asking this, especially since Gunn didn't know the duo very well, and Spike had only just arrived. "Anyone th ink they've been acting weird lately? Like, especially now? Especially about um...plants and trees, and animals? I can't put my finger on it...it's not bad weird...just different..." She gave an uneasy look towards the stairs.

The blanket over his head was, thankfully, no longer needed to keep him from going up in a ball of flame, but Spike wasn't about to just toss it aside while he was still outside of the manor. Though, he had to admit to himself, the bit of magic had certainly come in handy, addictions to it be damned. He wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

After Gunn's invite, he remained outside on the porch, canting his head to the side and raising a dark colored eyebrow. "Funny. Be funnier if you actually had the power of the invitation." To show what exactly he meant by that, Spike lifted one hand, using the other to keep the blanket around his shoulders like a kind of cape, the vampire tried to pass his hand through the doorway, only he ended up leaning on an invisible barrier instead. "I'm guessin' your name ain't on the lease, Chuck. Thought you were some kinda vampire hunter? All that lawyer mojo intelligence must be wearin' thin, hm?"

Sighing, he turned around and leaned against the barrier that kept him from going inside, and for the first time since he ran up the drive, he began to look about the grounds of their new digs. Another thing he wouldn't admit aloud to any living soul, the taste of these people had improved much over the years. Law firms, fancily decorated hotels, a bloody mansion with what looked like it was situated on more ground than the Slayer Army knew what to do with. That awful Sunrise place aside, things were looking up.

"By weird do you mean 'lesbian'? 'Cause there's always that."
