Niks' eyes narrowed slightly at the Watcher comment, her brow lifted slightly. Yeah, that was good; keep working on that nerve a little, Lehane - Niks would try to pull it open and maybe see what was really going on in the background.
"There's a pool. And resting has to be part of your recovery. You are lucky that you're a ...no.." She set the cup down and looked sternly at the Slayer. It had lost a little bit of weight, that look, it didn't have the age it had before. But, it still had something to it. "No, you were bloody fuckin' lucky you didn't get dead. You have to respect nature; sure, it made you a tough bitch, but it demands things of you. It demands your respect, and it demands you let it work the way it works. Trying to speed it up, even if you are a little different, isn't going to help you. And, trying to down the frustration in drink or overexertion of any kind isn't going to help you any. Who's your Watcher?"
Niks was not happy. She needed something to get mad at maybe; maybe this would kick her ass out of the doldrums that had started to take over the moment she lost her...self.

"Look, what I do with myself ain't your business or the business of my Watcher," Faith stated, just as irritated with everything around her. "I'm tryin' to get back in the damn game so I can be out there and do my job the right way. They fuckin' gave out again tonight." She gestured angrily at her legs. "I tried the 'easy' way to recovery; I'm just pushin' it a long a little faster. Now that Xander's gone, ain't not like I got anything better to do." She couldn't help but add that comment at the end.
She gave her another look before leaning on the counter, looking elsewhere.

"Shit." Niks took a deep breath, releasing it slowly. She'd talk before Faith could answer. "Faith, I had nothing to do with his going, and Giles...didn't do it to hurt you. Doesn't make it easier, but it's a bitch." Her hand lifted to rub at her own temple; it was almost Giles' move, almost. He went for the bridge of his nose, she'd picked it up and changed it to a temple rub.
"You'll do more damage pushing. It's like poking at a wound. It never gets better, never heals properly." Niks moved slowly round to Faith, her voice dropping. "You've got to be soft and vulnerable and open and patient, nothing that is fun or exciting or...it just fuckin' sucks, man." If she let her, Niks would slide an arm around the younger woman.
Her voice still soft, but there was a teasing in it. "And if you hit me right now, I'll stab you with a fork." Did she have one on her? Well, really, it was amazing what a Watcher might be able to do when they had to.

Faith's eyes fell floorwards when she mentioned a large part of Faith's foul mood. Xander. Giles probably didn't do it to hurt her, but hell, she still thought the man had some sort of fucking tact to let Xander have a chance to say "good-bye."
She looked up again when Niks moved closer to her, her brows still knitted tightly. She allowed the woman's arm to drape around her but only for a moment before Faith pulled away. Not rudely. But she didn't like touchy-feely moments.
"I ain't gonna stab ya' with a fork," Faith murmured, her face softening slightly. Her guard was still up but the anger was ebbing away. "Look, I can't help it, pushin' myself. I'm not a homebody; I gotta be out there, doin' my thing. But I can't do it when I fall over like a fuckin' toddler every five minutes. I know I'm fightin' nature, but the fight out there doesn't wait."

She shifted her weight against the counter, letting Faith move away. It didn't bother her that the Slayer didn't want a hug, but it had been something of a good sign that the young woman had accepted the offer of physical comfort that didn't need some form of protection, even if that acceptance had only been for a very short moment.
"I didn't think you'd stab me with a fork, missy, but I would stab you." Niks didn't smile; she just stared out in front of her, thinking. "I mean it." She sounded a little surprised. "Sorry, love, my mind isn't what it should be by any stretch of the imagination."

She sighed and leaned back on the counter. "Okay, well, I'd believe that you would stab me with a fuckin' fork. You're kinda unpredictable like that, ya know." She was a little surprised, however, at how serious she was at the stabbing part. Sometimes, Faith couldn't tell whether the chick liked her or hated her.
She finished off her drink then began to clean up. "Look, I'll try my best to not push myself. But I ain't promisin' anything. I'm not used to Watchers lookin' out for me. Kinda hadn't had the best experience with you guys. And vice versa, I'm sure." With Giles sending Xander away, the trend seemed to continue.
"I'm gonna try and get some stretchin' exercises in before I go to bed." The now empty bed. "Gotta let out some steam and shit."

The female Watcher sighed softly before starting her own clean up; she couldn't sleep, and blowing steam seemed like a good idea. She'd opt for going to the library and doing research instead of doing any work out. Her mind worked better when it was focused on something rather than letting it float out into the meditative nothingness that came with physical activity.
Her eyes lifted to the ceiling; she'd have to get back to bed eventually, but right now, right now she'd just try and do some work.
"Do try and get some rest."
