Faith was spreading on the mayo when she heard the footsteps approaching the kitchen. Her lips twitched. She really didn't want to see anyone at the moment, but what could she do now? She looked up when she saw the dark-haired Watcher walking in. Well, hell in a handbasket, she hadn't seen Niks in forever.

She continued to spread the mayo onto the sandwich that was piled on with all kinds of meats. "Hey, there," she greeted the Watcher with a brief look. "Want a sandwich? I think I can spare ya' a slice or two." She wasn't even going to think of the fact that Niks probably came back from being in the vicinity of Giles, whom Faith wasn't overly happy with at the moment.

Niks shook her head slightly as she started to gather what little she needed to make a decent cup of hot cocoa. She did give the more rebellious Slayer a smile of appreciation though.

"No, thanks. I'm not very hungry." The Watcher might have looked as if she'd lost a little weight too. Not too much, but enough to be noticeable. Her head tilted slightly as she paused in pouring milk. "Would you like some cocoa?"

It seemed an innocent enough question.

"Suit yourself," Faith stated with a shrug. She finished up, all but throwing the butter knife into the sink and pushed down her hefty sandwich to almost grill cheese width. Luckily, the meat and bread withstood her pressure and popped back up somewhat to sandwich levels. She studied it a moment, not sure why she was, maybe because half her mind wasn't exactly in the kitchen.

When Niks spoke again, Faith shook her head out, as if breaking out of some spell. "Huh? Oh, nah... I'm actually lookin' to get a beer." She turned, limping slightly to open the fridge, though knowing nothing of the beer kind was waiting in there. Instead, she grabbed a soda and turned back around as she popped it open.

She took a large gulp, her eyes trained on Niks. When she lowered her drink, she leaned against the counter. "Where have you been anyway?" she had to ask.
