It is fall in my part of the world. The leaves are dying, fluttering to the ground, brown and dessicated. The sky has been gray for the last two days. I wake up and I see no sunshine, realize that it's another day at the CVS with a boss I dislike as much or more than the one I had back at Eckerds in February.
I stare out the window, my thoughts racing, and at the same time focusing on one simple, complex thing: "Why the !^%%@ do I subject myself to such misery? It is within my power to change my situation and yet I don't."
Well, there was no time to continue that thought process. Had to get up for work.
Today was particularly bad. The boss' lackey, a woman who breathes LOUDLY through her nose, has constant health problems, coughs and sneezes like a bloody savage in all corners of the pharmacy, spreading germs and not apologizing, was there, making the work day that much difficult.
Let me tell you how annoying this young woman is. Have you ever watched MTV's SUPER SWEET SIXTEEN? She sounds like all those girls. Snotty, whiney, snooty. UGH! It drives me crazy.
And yet, through all the bleakness of the day, the headache, the unhappiness, there was a beacon of hope on the horizon, a light in the darkness.
After work I read in the New York Daily News Celebrity gossip section that KRISTIANNA LOKEN (Terminator 3) and MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ (Resident Evil, 'Lost') might have entered into a same sex relationship.
Yippe-cay-yay!!!!
There is a God and her name is Alanis.
