Ah, you like the mellow, pretty music! I love those songs so much. <3 I'm glad you like them, too! You're welcome!

It's so funny you mention Tori, because one of her songs does appear on my Akito fanmix! (It's "Girl.") I totally agree that Tori has songs that vibe with Akito! I think I had a harder time with Akito because this mix was near completion before we really found out Akito's reasons behind her desire for Shigure. I actually had to split this mix into a 'shipper one, one for Akito herself, and then a Mabudachi trio mix. THAT'S HOW LONG IT WAS. Yeah, you are so right. When I think of making a fanmix, the song as a whole has to fit with me; the lyrics, the tone, the music. Which is why I loved Emilie Autumn's "Liar" because it's so dark, violent, possessive, and the song almost SOUNDS like it's falling apart.

I own most of Tori's albums, but um, I totally admit to not knowing the lyrics to most songs. I will definitely check out lyrics to "Sugar" and "Caught a Lite Sneeze." Ooh, I like Chantal, but I haven't heard that song. If you could upload "Surrounded" I would <3 you forever. Thanks! :)

Chantal Kreviazuk ~ "Surrounded"

And as an added bonus, after I posted my earlier comment I remembered this song, which I think fits Akito-->Shigure about as perfectly as any song could:

Portishead ~ "Glory Box"

Thanks! <3

LMAO. Glorybox is on my Akito mix!!! Haha, we are synching!! I don't have the list in front of me (and I go back and forth on a few songs), so these are totally out of order, but this is what's on the mix:

3. Chinese Burn - Curve
4. Opheliac - Emilie Autumn
5. Paint It Black - The Tea Party

Haha! I told you it was a perfect fit, didn't I? :D And I'm interested in the inclusion of Fleetwood Mac/Rhiannon, too. I'm gonna have to take a closer look at the lyrics to that.

Haha, you did. I have love, love, love Portishead. If you like mellow trip hop, I could rec you a lot of songs or artists. "Rhiannon" was one of the songs I was questioning. It's a situation where I added it months ago and forgot my justification. I think it had to do with the Kureno-Akito-Shigure love triangle. One of the reasons Shigure tried to isolate Akito was because he couldn't have her in her current state. He couldn't have her as God; he couldn't have her as the center of others' lives; he couldn't have her when she was mentally unstable; he couldn't have her under Akira or Ren's supervision; or when she was with Kureno. Akito was unattainable, and that's why Shigure dragged Tohru into the mess and tried to snap the curse; to lift her burdens so he could reach her. As for Kureno, he stayed with, loved her, cared for her, made love to her, but he always knew there was someone else in her heart. "Rhiannon" has always struck me as a song about an unattainable woman, and Akito is definitely the poster girl for "It's lonely at the top." I don't know. I'm still iffy about it, but I LOVE THAT SONG SO MUCH and it clouds my judgment!!! Here are the lyrics (cut down to avoid repeating):

Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn't you love to love her
She takes to the sky like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?

All your life you've never seen
A woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you heaven
Will you ever win...

She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless

Dreams unwind, she loves the state of mind

Yeah, I love pretty much everything sung by Stevie Nicks, solo or with Fleetwood Mac, so I like that song. I think your justification for it makes sense.
