It's good to know what you want out of life

You may have noticed my frequency of posting has dramatically increased as of late; it honestly is from lack of work to do at actual work. I'm trying not to get used to it.

In my attempt to fill up time, and with our Internet connection at work being sporadic, I have been wondering what I'd much rather be doing than sitting at a computer pretending to be productive, which inevitably led to me wondering what I want right this minute, and eventually what I want out of life. This turned out to be a very fun exercise, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Here is my list:

I want to take photos.
I want a big lush green garden with tall trees and shrubs.
I want to sew/craft/make cute things.
I want to study/analyze photographs, especially historical ones.
I want to play with puppies, and otters, and all sorts of animals.
I want to help promote play and fun in education and childhood development, and help children enjoy learning, and help people understand the importance of play for adults.
I want my own dog.
I want to go hiking in back country areas, in tall forests and high mountains and across babbling creeks.
I want to go snorkeling in warm water.
I want an excuse to buy and wear pretty shoes.
I want to live somewhere quiet.
I want a job that is engaging and mentally stimulating, pays a decent salary, and does not require my attention 24/7.
I want a regular weekly gathering with friends.
I want to have time to ride my bike everywhere.
I want to go on an adventure, like a road trip down the Pacific coast or backpacking through the Mediterranean.
I want a giant embrace from my husband.
I want to get over the idea that my career is somehow reflective of my intelligence, or that I must choose a career that supposedly reflects my intelligence. Jim Henson was a genius and he didn’t do Physics.
I want to believe that just because I didn’t learn it before doesn’t mean I can’t do it or learn it now, and being “behind the curve” doesn’t matter.
I want to not have to live up to others’ expectations.
I want to paint a small mural.
I want to be outdoors more.
I want to feel stable, both financially and in my career.
I want a creative space all to myself.
I want Chinese food.

I'm actually very curious to hear what other people want: ice-cream, to win the lottery...
