The first SCA outfit I ever made myself (someone made my first three) was inspired by a romance novel cover.

Awww. . .My first SCA name was Isobel. Which I documented from a romance novel. Not that Morrghan is document-able, but I've been using it for 12 years now.

Wait - was the novel you read about a Scottish girl who is forcibly married to an abusive lord, and she becomes a witch so she can mess with him, and there's oodles of hot coven-on-coven sex, and SATAN!!!!!! ?

'cause that novel rocked.

(It was named "Isobel", btw. I read it in college.)

No it was a novel about a modern woman reliving a past life where she was a Scottish woman who was the mistress of Robert the Bruce, and she gets put in a cage on a tower, because she was a witch (not really).
