Oh, ha, ha. Guess who got really, really sick right after posting?
I think, I'm not sure, that I have an infected tooth. At least, the headache is radiating from there, and I spent Friday dry-heaving into the sink (it was the closest). I'm still nauseated, and I've lost five pounds since Friday, which is not good. I'm up to toast, and the occasional something with sugar, but I've mainly been subsisting on cola syrup.
I'm trying to make an appointment with the dentist. Yay. Good times.
So, everything is a bit on hold for now, because I'm not up to much more than lying on the sofa.
Oh, and June 26th was my one-year anniversary of my new jacket, "Patience" (an inside joke). I have all the outlining finished, and I'm coming up on finishing the fill on the third arm section. Once the fill is done, I start on the gilt silk twist detached buttonhole. So far on the fill, I've gone through 7 spools of Ver au Soie 100/3 that I got from
Hedgehog Handworks. I went through four cones of
Halcyon Yarn Gemstone silk for the outlining, and the fabric is four yards of Irish linen from
Fabrics.com in white (that's not the linen; it's just the closest thing they have in stock right now). If you're interested in making your own jacket, I adapted one of my coif designs, and while I used my own pattern, you can get one just like it (and a coif pattern) from
Reconstructing History (hi, Kass! Love you!).
Total hours as of today are 1224. My calculations were that this one would take three times as long as the
Maidstone reproduction, so I'm about on track.
Now I'm going to go back to the sofa.
