The Favorites: Dramas 've also rated them with how much I enjoyed them/how objectively good. Some of my favorites may not be the best dramas out there but I had a personal connection or special attachment to them.
Marmalade Boy (TW) My first drama, so it holds a special place in my heart. Even though the acting was not all that great it got me into dramas and kept me hooked. So, I definitely keep it up there on my favorite dramas.
Hana Yori Dango (J)I Hana Yori Dango is basically a shoujo manga come to life. It somehow makes you believe the crazy things that happen are believable. Its just got that magical quality to it. Makino came across as a strong heroine who doesn't take crap from anyone. And she is admired for that and also gets a happy ending.
Que Sera Sera (K) There isn't anything that I can say to get across how much I love this series! Its dark, and terribly angsty but the thing that I love is that there isn't a "perfect" character. The characters make mistakes that people would. Eric is amazing, for me he is the actor that stands out the most.
Goong/Princess Hours (K) The acting is amazing but the story is very very cute and gives you warm fuzzies. So its been a favorite of mine.
Coffee Prince (K) Yoo Eun Hee really suprised me when I watched her in CP. She really got into the role. It was a major improvement from her acting in Goong. In fact all the actors did a wonderful job. The drama felt really special because I could tell the people working on it really invested themselves into it. I also loved the angst that Gong Yoo expressed because of his confusion of his feelings for Eun Chan. It felt so real and honest.
Who Are You (K) It was so entertaining to see the switch between the father and Seung Hyo. I thought the romance was very touching. The series has been different than anything that I've ever seen before. Definitely one of my top favorites!
{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}
Delightful Girl (K) Its the typical forced-marriage scenario but I love it anyway! Delightful Girl can make me collapse into giggle fits. Although all the near-misses do get repetitive and the angst is stretched out way too long. Its still a keeper with a sweet ending.
My Lucky Star (TW) I really didn't expect to like this series. It has all the signs of turning out bad. The main actress Yoo Ha Na is Korean and has her voice is dubbed. I couldn't stand the dubbed voice at first (its grating and too cutesy cute) but I got used to it. The love story between the two is almost like a K drama! Its got all these misunderstandings, the obligatory girl leaving boy for a "good" reason, an opposing family, a time skip, and a rich male hero. Every episode left me hanging so I couldn't wait for the next one. And I was going through withdrawl when it was all over.
Hong Gil Dong (K) Also a show that stretches out the angst too far.. But its so funny and is full of twists. I don't usually watch saguek dramas. But since HGD is more of a fusion so it really was something different and fun to watch.
My Girl (K) There are some dramas that are so good that they're what I call "epic". The ones that should be mandatory to watch. MG is one of those. I stayed up so late trying to finish it all. I was literally cursing the characters and crying my eyes out. Not that MG is all angst, because its not. Theres really sad scenes followed by laugh out loud comedy. Its such a roller coaster ride of emotions that by the end I felt like a zombie, all worn out by the emotions. And when a drama can make me that addicted to it then I know that I've found a good one.
The Devil (K) This is one of the most depressing dramas on the list. It is about two men who are consumed by their pasts. The camera angles are beautiful and show the thinking of the characters. I normally won't watch dramas where I know that they're going to be sad but this one is worth it.
It Started With A Kiss (TW) Its pure magic! ISWAK is so sweet and Ariel Lin pulls off her role perfectly. If anyone else acted the part I wouldn't love this drama nearly as much! Xiang Qin (Ariel Lin) is a character that could come across obsessive, needy and other worse character traits. But Ariel Lin has such charm that you love her! And as much as she needs Joe Cheng's character, he needs her just as much although he won't show it as clearly as she does.
Story of A Man (K) Its a more serious drama about revenge. I really loved how all the characters came together to make this awsome team! Though I wished the end was a little happier I can't complain because the show was consistantly great throughout.
Brilliant Legacy (K) This is the longest Kdrama that I've ever watched! I loved how the romance developed at a nice pace and the heroine is one of my favorites! She's basically how Jan Di should have been in BBF. She is selfless but also stands up for herself when she has to.
Tatta Hitotsu No Koi (J) Although I didn't care much for Ayase in the show Kame more than made up for it. He is the heart of the show and you can't help but love Hiroto.
You're Beautiful (K) This show hit all the things I love. Boybands, check. A hint of angsty but not overpowering, check. Jang Geun Suk, check. I love how laid back the drama was. Sure there was angst but not to the point to where it was overwelming. Its definitely going on the very top of my list.
Nodame Cantabile (J) I adore this show so much! Its an instant pick me up!
Next Station Happiness/Autumn Concerto (TW) I fell in love with AC, its basically a fanfic come to life. Add Vaness and Ady's amazing pairing and you've got pure magic. Its pure melodrama, but I gulped it down. And usually I can't stand melodramas, so that just shows how addictive it is.
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (J) Its not spectacular BUT I loved all the characters! I loved how the two leads woul go fight in the middle of the street or in a host club ninja style. And it has Kame! What more could I ask for? Add the weirdest, most awkward, but addictive opening dance/song and you've got this drama!
IRIS (K) The best action drama I've ever seen! I love the strong female roles in the show and th emphasis put on the political thriller angle.
Black And White (TW) Tightly scripted and tons of unexpected twists make this an amazing action drama. That and Zai Zai...
Baker King (K) Solid and addicting from start to finish. I felt genuinely attached to the main characters and was sad the show ended.
Mischievous Kiss (K) I love how they made the female lead spunkier and they focused on getting her to make her own goals independent of her man. They kind of fixed some of the major problems with ISWAK. BUT the story does drag a lot. However since I'm a rabid ISWAK fan I could overlook the flaws of the kdrama. Of course ISWAK is the better version, but the korean one is good as well.
Time Between Dog and Wolf (K) So so tightly written. There wasn't a scene I could fastforward through. Lee Jun Ki steals the show. He literally plays three different characters in the show but the transitions feel so natural. And it had a pretty happy/realistic ending as well.
Giant (K) To be honest I skipped tons episodes in this show. But honestly the only reason I stuck with the show was the amazing OTP that was Mi Ju/Min Woo. I was rabid for the tiny bits the two would get with each other. They're worth slogging through this long boring show.
It's Okay Daddy's Girl (K) Satisfying. If I had to sum the drama up that would be the word for it. Its a quiet drama, you watch it and forget it until you pick it up again. But every time I watched an episode I just felt like it was worth my time and I was emotionally connected to the characters. Its light on the romance and focuses instead on the relationships in a family and friendship. Every episode warmed my heart and broke it at the same time.
Bump Off Lover (TW) Twisty and addictive. I gobbled this up! Some of the twists I could predict but most of them I couldn't.
Gloria (K) Amazing. I connected so deeply with all the characters. They all had such wonderful friendships and even had characters call out the absolute crazy stuff that others would say. The ending was perfect and I was completely satisfied. (8/7.5)
Dream High (K) A high school drama mixed with a FAME setup. I had issues with some of the reasoning but I could get through it because of a stellar performance by Kim Soo Hyun. I became attached to the characters and the show reminded me of my own high school experiences/friendships. (7/7)
Sunny Happiness (Mainland) Absolutely adorable! Both characters were just good people and their relationship was also a strong friendship. Its a comfort food drama! (8/7)
Tomorrow I'll Still Love You/Proong Nee Gor Ruk Ter (Lakorn) I have so much love for this lakorn! Its got everything for a good drama: an EPIC OTP, fun secondary characters, multiple cute couples, drama, and fanservice. Its kind of an old fashioned love story but its just so well done. Honestly I could go on and on about it but I'll just stop now! (9/7.5)
Worlds Within (K) This is so different from anything that I've seen. I love how everyone in the show seemed so real. And the way that they filmed the drama is breathtaking. The only issue I had was that I had a hard time connecting with the characters. However the drama was addicting and original. (7/8)
Queen of Reversals (K) I was addicted to this drama! Its really a simple underdog story with many of the characters going through their own "reversals". Even though it was long and the ending episodes were repetitive I really came to love this one. I loved all the secondary characters! Tae Hee was a BAMF and became one of my top heroines. I also became a fan of PSH because of this drama. The ending really was perfect and I couldn't have imagined anything better. (7.5/7.5)
Can You Hear My Heart (K) his was so beautiful. I have never had this kind of emotional connection with a drama. Its one of the most heartfelt dramas I've ever had the pleasure to watch. (10/9)
The Princess's Man (K) One of the best romances I've seen in a long time. I especially liked the focus on strong women and complex secondary characters. And for once I enjoyed the political action in a period drama. (9/10)
Special Crimes Force TEN (K) Stylistic and dark are the two ways I would describe TEN. Its much more than a police procedural. Each case has emotional resonance and explores the lengths someone will go to in order to catch a twisted killer. Joo Sang Wook sinks deeper into darkness as he attempts to understand the killer in order to catch him. (8/8.5)
History of a Salaryman (K) Salaryman was a corporate espionage thriller with tons of humor mixed in. It was wacky and fun. 8/8
A Love to Kill (K) Beautifully shot and heartachingly beautiful. The conflict felt very real and raw. I felt that the last few episodes could have been cut short. 8/7.5
Pin Anong (Lakorn) The chemistry between the OTP is fiery and I love watching them fight their enemies together.
8/7.5
Nice Guy (K) One of the best melodramas I've ever seen. The characters were deeply broken people and somehow all the crazy things that were going on seemed completely normal. I loved the OTP to pieces and they had really good chemistry. The ending felt rushed but overall I was happy with it and sorry that it ended. 8.5/7
Rich Man, Poor Woman (J) This is one of those romances that completely warms your heart. It's refreshing that there's no melodrama and it's a straight up romcom. Near the end it was a little draggy but still so much fun to watch so I didn't mind. This is my favorite Oguri Shun performances! 8/7.5
Thank You
The Rest
- Full House (K (The ending was awful. I was so pissed that I put in all the time to watch it for that kind of ending.)
- Romantic Princess (TW (Ok, but not really exceptional. But I loved Wu Chun and and the lead girl were so awesome together!)
- LIFE (J) Good, it definitely showed the scarier side of school. But not one of my favorites. Not that anythings wrong with it. Its a good series, just not my favorite.)
- Hana Kimi (J) (Soooo funny! Way better than the TW series but there isn't much of a plot and I couldn't stand the guy that she was supposed to be with. I loved Nakatsu.)
- Fated To Love You (TW (Cute, but really draggy during the second part.)
- Devil Beside You (TW) (Mike He is LOVE, its very cute.)
- Smile Pasta (TW)(I liked it but sometimes I felt like the plot lines were too dragged out or unreasonable.)
- Boys Before Flowers(K) (It started out really great but lost steam in the second half. I was really disappointed :( It could've been really great)
- Save The Last Dance For Me(K) (I really liked it in the beginning but lost interest in the end. I felt that the main character wanted amnesia guy to be who he used to be instead of loving both versions of the guy.)
- Wish To See You Again(TW) (It was quirky and cute starting out but then I got frustrated by the characters and how all the problems would be resolved if people just explained things.)
- Angel's Temptation(K) (Addicting but much of it didn't make sense..)
- Hotaru no Hikari (J) (Just didn't appeal to me but it was still cute at some parts)
- Soulmate (K) (Slow moving but funny during the first part. I ended fast forwarding a LOT to get to some OTP interaction. But it was a pretty cute series just not one of my favorites.)
- Nobuta wo Produce (J) (Funny but its not ranked higher because I was so upset about my ship :(
- Cain and Abel (K) (Started off great but the logic during the show just didn't make any sense near the end. Too much focus on the bad guys and trying to force the audience to feel bad for them. Sorry, I just didn't. Its a shame cause I was really liking the show but it was a letdown.)
- Pick The Stars (K) (Started out great but the plot was slow moving and the BIG SECRET was really lame. BUT this show does have heart and I loved the main couple!)
- Pi Li MIT (TW) (Cute OTP, and AAron Yan is insanely gorgeous! was bored by pretty much all the other mysteries in the show though. BUT the OTP interaction made this show.)
- Prosecutor Princess (K) (Solid acting and adorable OTP but I was bored to tears by everything else. I did enjoy this kind of Korean take on Legally Blonde and I really really want the Grace shoes!!)
- All About Eve (K) (Classic Kdrama shenanigans but I was VERY unhappy with the ending. There was way too much forgiveness given that wasn't deserved. And Chae Rim's character became too much of a Mary Sue near the end. I would not recommend this one.)
- Buzzer Beat (J) (Super cute but dragged in the last half. Yampai's character was really too mellow for my tastes. "Love makes me strong!")
- Couple or Trouble/Fantasy Couple (K) (I really enjoyed this series and it would have been higher up on my list except for the fact that the show draggggged along. But knowing the Hong Sister's writing there was plenty of slapstick humor and unexpected comedic moments. This is a nice show to watch leisurely but its not an addictive series.)
- Summer's Desire (TW) (Addictive at first but then I got really frustrated with the characters.)
- Smile, You (K) (I loved the show and the OTP but the extension ruined everything. My OTP became sickeningly sweet at the end. It was a struggle to finish this one)
- My Lovely Sam Soon (K) (Very realistic and I adored Sam Soon. I hated the lead guy in this one. He flip flopped between the two women for far too long. But the drama was cute and very funny)
- Lovers (K) (I was obsessed with it at first but it didn't hold my attention and the characters annoyed me so much.)
- Phoenix (K) (It dragged way too much near the end. I loved the characters but I felt that not enough attention was paid to the actual OTP. The husband was great but I felt that the second lead had too many scenes with the heroine. I was shipping her with the wrong guy. And when that happens something is definately up!)
- ATHENA (K) (An trainwreck. It does a disservice to IRIS in so many ways. I got through the 11th ep and skipped to the last one. It was such a waste of my time. Stupid and characters that no one can connect with along with a meandering story just ruin the drama.) 3/5
- My Princess (K) (It was really funny and the OTP was one of the cutest I've seen in a romcom for a while. BUT the conflicts were ridiculous and the story didn't really go anywhere.) 7.5/7
- What Planet Are You From? (K) (Amazing OTP but they were the only reason to watch the show. I was intensely irritated by all the other characters.) 7/7
- Love Rotation/Wong Wian Hua Jai (Lakorn) (My very first lakorn! I was so addicted to it, even though I knew the show was insanely trashy! I didn't like the second half as much and I fastforwarded a LOT. And I really thought that the hero deserved to do much more begging than he did. I was not too happy with him at the end. But overall it was a fun ride.) 8/5.5
- Buang Ruk Gamathep/Cupid's Magic (Lakorn) It was decent and entertaining but the first half was longer than it needed to be and the couple fell in "love" way to fast to be believable. I LOVED the heroine. She could kick some ass but then they kind of drained the fight out of her. But the lakorn had my favorite Thai actor: Pong, so it was all good! 7.5/7
- Thorn Birds (K) This drama really was a disappointment. It had the right things but the story was not compelling. I stopped following at about half through and just followed the rest on Soompi. Do not watch this. 5/5
- Crime Squad (K) The thing with Crime Squad is that the overarching story wasn't emphasized enough. And they played up some of the OTPness but the writers never followed through. 7/6
- 49 Days (K) 49 Days started out slow but picked up its pace near the end. It made me question how I live my life and how I love the people in it. Isn't that what a drama should do? The ending was iffy, but I didn't regret watching this one. 7/7
- Damo (K) God, this was an intense drama. It was good, but somehow I had trouble connecting with the characters. Maybe I expected too much since everyone seems to love this one. 6/8
- Greatest Love/Best Love (K) Started out good but I got dissatisfied near the middle through the end. I couldn't see any chemistry between the OTP and the hero was borderline psychotic. I had to force myself to finish this. 5/6
- Capital Scandal (K) Entertaining and funny. I had some issues a few characters. I loved the secondary OTP thought. 7/7
- I'm Sorry I Love You/MISA (K) I loved the hero but it was hard to watch because he suffered so much. A lot of the plotlines seemed silly and forced at times. 7/6
{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}{C}City Hunter (K) Great setup and the whole drama flowed very well. I just didn't really feel the OTP. I wasn't as invested in them as I have been for other couples in dramas. 7.5/7.5
Heartstrings (K) Cute OTP but the story never went anywhere. A lot of the drama felt very forced. Its something to pass the time I guess. 7/6 - Love Keeps Going (TW) I loved how they showed that the heroine sacrificing everything for others really is an unhealthy way to live. I hated how they rushed the ending and threw in some cliches into an otherwise wonderful drama. 7.5/7
- Surgeon Bong Dal Hee (K) Somehow Surgeon Bong Dal Hee is addictive. It doesn't really make sense since the drama is fairly average. Lee Bum Soo really shines in his role and he made me start to like his disagreeable character. Too much time was spent on the secondary pairing and it detracted from developing the romance between the leads. 8/7
- Hero (K) This is a criminally overlooked drama. I enjoyed the little paper's struggle against a devious politician. However, the story really didn't stick with me and I wasn't emotionally invested in the story. 6.5/7
- Waking Love Up (Mainland) Its a remake of Prince Turns to Frog that has a ton of heart. It was entertaining and romantic to the core. 8/5
- Vampire Prosecutor (K) I really enjoyed each episode's mystery. I feel that they could have added more of the bigger mystery that is behind everything. I also was bothered by some of the acting. But otherwise it was stylish and different. 7.5/7/5
- Shut Up Flower Boy Band (K) I enjoyed the bromance and darkness of the drama. However I didn't really feel the main couple. I felt like the heroine should have been fleshed out more. Overall though its a quality drama, just not one of my favorites. 7.5/7.5
- Ngao Hua Jai (Lakorn) This started out really good but soon devolved into the common lakorn tropes that I despise. 5/3
- Kularb Rai Glai Ruk (Lakorn) I thought the heroine would grow up but she never did. She and the hero had lots of chemistry and were cute to watch but otherwise this drama was mediocre. 7/5
- Fai Luang/Pretend Love (Lakorn) It's a very typicl lakorn setup and I got drawn into the leads bickering chemistry but I wouldn't recommend this. 6.5/4
- Rooftop Prince (K) This show started out really good but quickly fell back on Kdrama cliches. I felt that the writers should have shortened up the drama and that could have kept it moving better. Basically all the middle episodes were filler and didn't help move the plot along. 6.5/6
- Gentleman's Dignity (K) The drama started off funny but devolved into ridiculous reasons to keep the OTP apart. I never could get behind the main OTP and loved the secondary OTP much more. 6.5/6
- Vampire Prosecutor 2: Enjoyable but nothing to obsess about. I wish there was more intensity throughout the whole series rather than just in the last couple episodes. 7/7
- W No Higeki (J): This felt like a VC Andrews novel come to life. It's a crazy mystery involving two sisters that kept me guessing. 7.5/7.5
- Prince Who Turns into Frog (T): An enjoyable drama that never failed to make me laugh. I never was strongly attached to the OTP though and the show ran longer than it should have. 7/6.5
- Wild Romance (K): The OTP really didn't have great chemistry but the drama was still fun. I didn't like how the heroine let herself get wrapped up in a guy. The secondary OTP was great though and so different that it made up for a lot. 6/6
- Ghost (K)
- Le Jun Kai
The Dropped
- Tokyo Juliet (I love Ariel Lin, but I just couldn't get through this)
- Dal Ja's Spring (Meh, couldn't find a reason to finish)
- Goong S (Se7en couldn't save this one. Good start but it lacked charm.)
- Bull Fighting (It was just horrible, the couple "fell in love" way to quickly to be belived. And I couldn't stand Hebe's character)
- Miss No Good (Rainie's voice. God, it was like nails on a chalkboard.)
- Lady Castle (I can't stand the main character, I just don't get how these great two guys could like her so much)
- Easy Fortune Happy Life (I could never forgive the hero for the damage he does to the heroines life)
- Green Rose (Didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters)
- Prince Turns To Frog
- Spring Waltz
- Winter Sonata (The constant abuse to the heroine was just too much. It was way over the top and melodramatic. And slow, I just couldn't force myself to finish)
- Down With Love (Boring and ridiculous.)
- Man of Honor

- Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi: This was my first Bollywood movie ever and although it wasn't spectacular I loved all the costumes. The dancing was also fun and made me a big fan of Sharukh Khan.
- Salaam-e-Isq
- Dil Bole Hadippa
- 7 Khoon Maaf
- Jodhaa Akbar
Telenovelas
- Rebelde (My first novela and I love all the seasons of the show. They give you a genuine affectionate feeing toward all the characters. And yeah, I'm pretty much addicted to RBD's songs.)
- Las Fea Mas Bella (Pure love. It was really inspiring to watch.)
- Cuidado Con El Angel (Yeah, the entire premise of the show is ridiculous but Maite and William really have killer chemistry in this one. Its so addictive!)
- Distilando Amor (I really didn't like this one at first but It really grew on my and I got wrapped up in the story.)
- Sortilegio (So sooo good. Its like a trashy romance novel come to life! And William Levy is in this one so of course I'm there!)
