[Background]
Behold, the BlazBlue wiki [Personality]
Ragna is mad at everything ever all the time ever. No, but in all seriousness, Ragna, or as he's known in the world of BlazBlue, Ragna the Bloodedge or the "Grim Reaper", is the protagonist of the series and is well known for his massacres of several branches of the world's form of government, the Novus Orbis Librarium, or the NOL/Library for simplicity's sake. He has a ridiculously large bounty on his head which has been described as "enough to buy a small country" and he seeks nothing but the complete and utter annihilation of the Librarium. When it comes to the NOL, Ragna doesn't give a flying damn who he has to kill or has killed. To him, they're just dogs who are slaves to order. He's rather ruthless when it comes to destroying them all. He's well aware of his reputation and what his methods cause everyone to see him as, but he doesn't care. It’s easier for him if everyone else just sees him as a murderer and he's going to destroy the library no matter what.
His past has had a major effect on his current personality. To put it simply, his life sucks. After Terumi Yuuki took everything away from him, everything he held close and everything he had to live for as a child, this including, but not limited to, cutting his right arm off, kidnapping his little sister and burning down their home, he learned "to hate everything".
With a short temper and a hot-headed loner attitude to boot, Ragna is pretty easy to rouse to anger, not to mention rude and sarcastic. Since he's constantly teased by someone or another, whether it be Rachel Alucard or Terumi Yuuki, he's normally seen as going off on everyone at the drop of a hat. Which he does, to the many that seem to love bothering him. And being like that means he's always about ready to fight anyone. Which, to reiterate, is not a hard point to get him to. At all. A good percentage of people he encounters he already deems as annoying and almost all detours or things that lead him astray from what he's doing is often labeled as a pain in the ass. Most of the time, he'd prefer to not deal with any of these impediments, but if a situation arises where he feels he has to fight (which is often) he's going to. He'd rather not deal with people in general. He's very much an "I don't need people, people don't need me" kind of person. When interacting with people, his intention is to be as distant as possible in an attempt to shoo whoever it may be away. His preference is to just be left alone. It's better that way for everyone.
In spite of his short temper and preference of avoiding people, he's really a good person at heart. Not like he'll be admitting this anytime soon, though. This is demonstrated particularly when he bought food for a hungry Taokaka and later for a starving Platinum the Trinity (although the latter wasn't as ... appreciative.) But he'll have his rare moments where he acts pleasant toward people, just so long at they make that same first impression to him. In other words, with the people who don't tease him or piss him off in some way or another, he'll begin warming up to others after a while. As much as someone like him would allow, that is. And if he manages to make an ally of some sort, he would find himself doing whatever it takes to protect them or save them from whatever danger would dare to present itself. He's still got his big brother instinct, despite how much he'd like to deny it, and with the few people he'd have a good relationship with, this would show. Moments of sentimentality or hesitation because of this are not unheard of, as he'll find himself spacing out while thinking about his past on occasion.
When it comes to Ragna's strengths and weaknesses, his determination and refusal to step down when he's set his mind to something is probably his greatest strength. However, this strength is also a weakness. He tends to leap into action on impulse due to his temper and is dangerously stubborn. This stubborn attitude has nearly gotten him killed on more than one occasion. Even if several times over he's told not to do something or not to fight someone because he won't win, he'll still go on and do it. He also has the tendency to go into every battle with the automatic thought that he's going to win, so he's also pretty cocky to add to that. He sort of lacks common sense with this combination but he's not completely stupid. He's actually very street smart and well aware of what's goes on around him. But even if he's injured, knocked out, almost dead, or whatever. Despite the odds, he'll always get back up and continue on to what he's resolved to do. He'll never give up or die until the very end.
[Abilities]
Ragna is very physically strong and well versed in combat, being trained by the most powerful being in the BlazBlue world, Jubei. One could simply decipher that from the size of his weapon. Have you seen that huge hunk of metal? It's ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that he was able to take out three branches of the NOL, whose army is revered by everyone in the world, by himself. However, it's a different story for his defense which is rather low. He can give damage, not take it. As far as his style goes, he's a very brute force kind of fighter and his attacks consist of mostly blunt impact from his sword itself and forces of his own strength (kicks, punches, etc) combined with his sword attacks.
His sword, the Blood Scythe, increases his ability to steal the life force of whoever is hit with it. Its original form is the giant hunk of metal we all know and love, however, when performing his Astral Heat, 'Black Onslaught', it transforms into a scythe like object, hence the name.
He also possesses the 'Azure Grimoire' (also called the 'BlazBlue') in his right arm, a powerful form of Armagus that can tap into the power of the Azure. His element is darkness and he's seen to be able to summon parts of the black beast in drive attacks. With these attacks, he can also steal the life force of his opponent for himself. The name of his drive is 'Soul Eater'.
When the Azure Grimoire is activated, he enters a state called 'Blood Kain', which enhances all of his abilities, including his speed, his drive attacks and the amount of life they steal, and his overall physical abilities which were already impressive. However, being in this state gradually chips away at his own life force, so it's not often he uses it. Only in particularly desperate moments.
[Other important stuff] He has a paralyzing fear of ghosts. And he likes cooking meat dishes.

[First Person]
- If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
Hell yes, I need to hurry and kick the shit out of Terumi!
- What were you doing before now?
Before everything happened, I was just destroying the cauldrons of the Library branches one by one like normal.
- If someone provoked or attacked you, what would you do?
The hell kind of question is that? I'd kick their ass and be done with it!
- Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
I'll stand up against anything that gets in my way. I don't care who or what the hell it is.
- What is more important to you: having friends or living on your own? Why?
I don't need anyone, people will just get in my way. If I had a choice, I'd be on my own all the time, but people can't seem to just take a hint and get out of my face! It's a real pain in the ass.
- Would you consider yourself a well traveled person? If so, what are some of your favorite places? If not, would you want to travel or is there some place you want to go?
Well, seeing as I do nothing but travel, I'd say I'm pretty well traveled. Don't have any favorite place, though. I don't have the time or the opportunity to sight see most of the time, not that I'd waste my time with it.
[Third Person]
Ragna was wandering the streets, mostly traveling through areas between buildings. Since he got a hold of more information on this place, particularly its name and the fact that no one seems to be able to leave, it put him at ease, slightly, but the fact that he can't leave irritates him as well. Wandering like this usually gives him time to think. Just to look back on everything that has happened. More recent events, to be exact. Though more along the lines of what Rachel told him. Such as what happened with Noel, the "order" she mentioned and the one he seemingly can't kill, the last thought making him cringe with anger at the man that threat is generally aimed at. It's a lot for the Ragna to take in, and it frustrates him that he can't do what he needs to because of this place.
“Shit...”
He clenches his right fist and it begins to shake with anger, malice, and pain. In an attempt to relieve some of this feeling, he punches a nearby wall of a building, swearing to himself. His thoughts lead to several questions as he tries to ignore the negative feelings for the time being which, of course, he doesn't normally succeed in, but.
What the hell was Rachel talking about? Why can't beat Terumi? What is it about the bastard that's so complicated? None of this crap makes any sense!
He sighed and shook his head. No point in bitching about what has already happened. Nothing would change, and his complaints just get swallowed up by the dark corners of the city. And no matter what, he’s going to do what he wants. He refuses to let an asshole like Terumi continue to breathe after everything he did. Somehow Ragna will make it back to his own world and he will kill Terumi. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon. What a pain in the ass. Until then, he just has to make do and get used to whatever the hell this world has to offer. He removed the small, phone like device from his pocket, almost glaring at the screen for a brief moment.
“… Tch.”
With that short notion, he returns the device to his pocket and continues on his walk.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] The dream world concept is interesting to me and I feel like I'd have fun with coming up with things this guy'd dream about. He he he.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Playercest. I-I just liked the way it sounded. It's funny to me.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Found the game itself on my own. Found out there was no Ragna from the Jin here. Thank you dear mun!
[Any questions?] Can I have that cake that was in the rain for some reason? It's still edible, right?
