So, YAY!!
I finally got the cast taken off my leg today...Now I have a orthopedic boot (I dunno the proper name for it...It's grey & heavy & has velcro & air pockets). _And_ permission to start weight-bearing, and directions to find a Physical Therapist. The orthopedist is pleased with how things are looking. Today's appointment was everything I wanted...sorta like my birthday but better than this year's.
A good friend knows a good PT place just up the road...near enough that I'd walk there without blinking, oh, back in July. *sigh* I will walk that far again. Soon. And I'll make sure they listen to me when I say I want to dance again, and that they fix me up right! Yes, I know PT will hurt. I know I will need to keep up that at-home exercises. (Thank you, m, for permission to swear at my therapist! I probably ought to make friends with them first though...)
Yays: Forward progress! Permission to do more things! The doc saying I'm recovering well & that my CAT scan looked good!
Boos (& not the Halloweeny kind): My foot hurts just being out of the cast today. All the nasty dead skin that's falling off. Learning to walk again with winter too close for me to be able to get out much.
But...overall a good day!!
Yesterday was good too: I got out on a trail in the woods, finally (thanks to another friend who loaned me her wheelchair & knew an accessible trail)...There were bluebirds & hawks & the smell of fall!!
Oh, um, yeah, and
couch! It's comfy, converts to a bed, & it fit in the door here.
Lots more, surely, but that's enough for now. How are you?
