Sunburned & Smiling

Summer has finally hit my part of NH after the final 'Frost Advisory Warning' on June 4th! And, I have entered full relaxation mode where my brain slows down to about 1/2 its normal speed since my job upholstering at Sally's is anything but stressful.

My skills with fabric are finally reaching the peak on that learning curve so I can really help Sally with the work she has. I proposed a 'drop-off' point in a bay of my parents barn in Sunapee for all the people in that area to leave furniture and where I can then rip it apart and basically prep it for Sally. This is a perfect in between point so that I can begin working on my own, at my skill level and without taking any business from her.

Kate and Fran have pulled off another highly successful art opening last Friday at the LAC, this one titled 'A Fresh Approach.' Amazing how quality showcards, word of mouth, past wonderful openings with tasty morsels gets the public to come and make a this community organization a focal point of the community.

And, if they though the past morsels were good, this time they were interstellar with Kate and Fran telling the board, "No, no, we will do all the food."

You might recognize some of the artwork and/or the name, yes that is Maggie Cederstrom's sister and you may color me impressed.

That weekend I volunteered as 'driver' to my friend Kelsey who is lanching a clothing design company Bedagi. I'm not sure how she swung it but she gathered together all these professionals in modeling, hair, makeup and photography and had a photoshoot in downtown Boston. I navigated and got pizza with Maggie and when asked to dress the models I did my duty:)

After the Boston photoshoot Kate and I unwound our wound up springs at our favorite spot the Goshen Ocean! Where we flew my grandfathers kite, and I have a new kite in the mail from Intothewind.com for flying in Maine this summer. I cannot wait to get the stunt kite in the air and attempt some loops.

I am very excited to see Casey this summer when he visits, his traveling abilities inspire me to get out of my little corner to see new places and meet new people. It really is a huge mental leap for me to realize that I can step out my door and go anywhere if I just plan it.

My service to my wonderfully loving parents is painting the front of the barn (the side they see from the house) this summer. I just bought 5 gallons of primer after having powerwashed and scraped for 4 days. The final color choice (after mucho deliberation) is barn red, white trim with black hardware and lettering.

Kate even came to help.
