OK, so I'm stumped as to how to make something, and I'll take help from all takers. I'd like to make a rectangular image, say 50w x 800h (in pixels). I'd like to have this rectangle a solid color fill. But here's the tricky part - I'd like the dead center to be 0% opacity, with transparency increasing as you more toward the top/bottom along with true Gaussian values. i.e. I want an overlayable gaussian color box.
Anyone have any idea how to do this? The only thing I can come up with is selecting a box 50x1, setting the transparency to match the gaussian p-value, and the good old Rinse'n'Repeat method. I won't be doing this...
Alternately, if you have something like this/know where to find it/can make it easier than you can explain it, please let me know!
