Help?

I am in desperate need of some new reading material. I've found a website which offers a $2 flat shipping rate in Japan, and want to take as much advantage of this as possible.

rheia78, I will definitely order "World War Z" if possible. You have me intrigued. silvershinigami, I shall be checking out "Water for Elephants," as well.

Any other recs are greatly appreciated.

And now...

A Pokemon plane. There are no words for how very special I thought this was...

My town is famous for Kumo Gassen. (Spider Fights.) They like to let everyone know, with big statues and bronze plaques. Example:

Retro yukata time! (Taken on my third day here, before doing "odori" - traditional dancing - with my co-workers, in front of the whole town.)

And with the nice lady who tried to teach us how to do their strange and complicated dances:

Largest Camphor Tree in Japan! (I turn left at it on my way to one of my schools. It is a landmark that is not easy to miss.)

For our skit at one of our business retreats, we did the Kagoshima-ben (dialect) version of the climactic scene of Lord of the Rings. Our teacher had some issues with the English title.

View from the ferris wheel at Amu Plaza in Kagoshima City.

Chillin' at the Dolphin Port in the city with Naat.

Hangin' out on the ferris wheel with the man who was to become Frodo. (He made a great Frodo, by the way, and we had an equally good Sam.)

And that's it for now!

recs, kagoshima, life in kajiki, pictures!
