I have always believed in attraction more than beauty, I think beauty is misconstrued, people tend to use the word and its interpretation as a means of judgement, and comparison, and they have done that quite a lot with Angel Coulby. My perception of attraction is what draws me to that person, my perception of beauty is anything and everything because I see beauty in life.
So the reason for this long post is because I’m tired of all the hate that I still see about Angel. Therefore I have put both attraction and beauty together to what I believe describes her, this is my perception of who Angel is:
I’m attracted to the beauty of her smile which is genuine
I’m attacted to the beauty of her infectious laugh (a belly laugh the best you can have) and on occasions her nose wrinkles as well
I’m attracted to the beauty of the small details of her acting which draws you in, it makes you feel what she does, her little nods and shakes and tilts of her head, her facial expressions, comedic timing, dramatic side of acting, sad, hurt, I love the scene in S2 E7 (Witchfinder) where she is running through the crowd and apologizing and excusing herself, that to me was both Angel & Gwen, I can go on but I won’t.
I’m attracted to the beauty of her portraying Guinevere one of the most hated women, but have you changing your mind about her and rooting for her to become queen
I’m attracted to the beauty of how she has brought this Guinevere to life by giving her character, more than just a face and hair, whereas most Guinevere’s have been written as bringing down a kingdom, (it has always amazed me that it is only the woman who can bring down the kingdom when there’s two other people in the affair)
I’m attracted to the beauty of her wanting to include everyone like it will hurt them if left out (interviews, BTS vids).
I’m attracted to the beauty of not wearing make up and how natural she is.
I’m attracted to the beauty of the interviews she gives especially about women who can be strong not only physically but emotionally and mentally.
I’m attracted to the beauty of the interview about children and for then to keep reading books as well as use the internet.
I’m attracted to the beauty of her natural grace
I’m attracted to the beauty of the encouragement to anyone going into acting and not to give up if they are rejected
I’m attracted to the beauty that she can still smile and be genuinely kind even when there has been hate that has been written about her from the media and people (and you can’t tell me she doesn’t know whats being written about her)
I’m attracted to the beauty of her sense of humour
I’m attracted to the beauty that exudes from within
I’m attracted to the beauty of her presence on screen
I’m attracted to the beauty of her voice because when you close your eyes you can still see her performance
I’m attracted to the beauty of how funny (not funny strange but funny haha) she can be
I’m attracted to the beauty of her creativity such as sewing, cooking, designing her own clothes, learning the guitar
Oh and by the way I’m not saying that Angel is the best thing since sliced bread I’m sure she has her faults, but these are the reasons why I’m attracted to her, these are the reasons she exudes beauty, this is what makes her beautiful. I think Bruce Lee said it best “I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and your not in this world to live up to mine”
