Not a terrible day at all!!
So yes: I got some awful news this weekend. Really ruined my future plans, and ruined my "2009 is the year of Nick" plan...
BUT
I feel strong for it anyway, and I'm curious as to why. Though not so much that I want to figure it out. I'm pleased to just know that the reserves of strength are there.
Made steak today: it was good. BAU6161 always buys cheap cuts of meat, because he buys based on a simple formula: MIN(weight in lbs/price) = purchase. It means, in the end, that I cook a lot of flank steak! But today I nailed it, and I'm glad for it. A steak dinner, a nice cigar, some very good brandy, and a few hours at the end of the day where the opera troubles me less. What else can I really ask for. It recharges the compositional batteries, which are severely drained by having had to re-write my entire opera this weekend. That has not been pleasent. If you want to know why, ask.
