That's it. It's been two months, and that was nearly the hundreth deaf person I've seen total. Where were they before? I didn't seem them at all last semester! But suddenly a deaf boy (talented piano player too) moves in the building across the sidewalk, and everyone is speaking in sign language! I'm serious, there is an influx of signed conversations recently.

So I've taken it upon myself to learn sign language. So many people know it here, I'm able to pick up from lots of people. I know the alphebet, how to say my name, say how I am, where I'm from, what I'm studying, and whether I'm cool or not.

Today was also the first day I heard Russian while walking to class. I've heard Tongan, Mandarin, Finnish, Spanish, Portuegese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Bushman (I can say it because it involves clicks and whistles), Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Korean, Romanian (a hilarious guy), Ebonics, Dutch, and other languages I had no idea about.

I don't understand the demographics here. If it's 80% 'white', how am I avoiding it?

Hurray for a multi-cultured campus. As one of our little motto's is "The World is Our Campus">>although I think that stems from the study abroad programs and the fact that EVERYONE here speaks a foreign language and a half.

I need to learn French, and I need to learn it fast!
