spoiled for choice while spoiling for a fight
i solved my quandry of which of two good nights (dead & buried or slaughterhaus 5) to go to last night by winding myself up into a lousy mood, and staying home instead. drank a bottle of crap red wine and watched qi and the book quiz on bbc i player. i rawk.
just got back from seeing watchmen. not the trainwreck i was half expecting, nor the triumph it was never going to be. it does pretty well; looks good, has a brain (although that brain is exported wholesale from the book), is brutally violent when it needs to be and showy when that's called for. the first hour is almost shot-for-shot directly from the book. i only have one real complaint:
THEY LEFT OUT THE FUCKING GIANT SQUID! FAAAAAIL!
