Let's see...
So things are ok with me these days. Got a new Job, got a new office. Got a new wife, got a new life and the family is fine....
No wait. That's Billy Joel.
Since February started, I've spent a Grand fixing my car, gone into debt (briefly), and spent most of my free time in hibernation mode. The lack of monies sent me underground, keeping me from doing anything much. I went to DC for Katsucon last weekend, and had a great time hanging out with Heather and Kate-o in artist alley. Afterward, Harris (a kid I chill with at cons) and I had a great bonding moment talking about life, women, and why people are the way they are. The rest of the weekend I kinda chilled out in the room, watching the Olympics, and avoiding spending money on beer with Jared. Jared spent most of his time hanging with his Ex (I feel obligated to mention that she's a US Brit). I did hang with them on Thursday night over a burger and a few beers, and chatted with her friend a bit. I do like meeting new people, and well, talking in general. The only remaining cool part was that I met a cool chick from NC that was going for her Masters in English & Philosophy. We talked a bit about books and anime, and she later hit me up on Facebook. I got hit on by 2-3 other chicks over the weekend, but you know me -- I'm irrationally picky. All the same, I had fun at the time, that is until one girl came back like 8 times. That was strange.
I've been watching "Sport Night," Aaron Sorkin's first TV show (of West Wing, A Few Good Men and Studio 60 fame). That was a great show, and it was nice to have some new Sorkin material to watch. I also just started Band of Brothers a few nights ago, and it is amazing! I was surprised to see Simon Pegg in there, and the other actors are pretty phenomenal. I also have though I might like to visit Normandy some day. The idea of visiting battlefields has never been appealing to me (I went to Gettysburg years ago), but for some reason, seeing those shores seems like it would be powerful.
Finally, since I'm temporarily not broke, I've been taking steps to get out of my house. I went to Happy Hour last night with Sara, Ben, Tim and a few others. Ran into Raoul there, which is always awesome! During the summer of soccer back at the last World Cup, we were pretty close mates, and I feel bad that we've lost touch. Tim, who I've mostly known through twitter, told me a lot about the recent world sailing cup, and Sara told me about a seminar she was attending on dealing with counceling for Brain damaged patients. It was all pretty fascinating, and later, as is my style, I had to spark a huge argument/debate among everyone about video games.
Today, Sara and Kayla are snatching me after work, and we're all heading to Long island for the weekend to hang with Jess and do whatever ladies do. I hear we'll be heading to the Mead store, and everything else is a mystery to me. Hopefully there will be a chance or two for me to snap a few shots on my camera, as I'm missing photography these days. Either way, this trip's gonna be a nice break from the inside of my Apt.
