Yes! I made an executive decision to buy myself some new clothes which fit and looked pretty, and it was a good decision! Lots of people have said lovely things about how nice I looked, so that's a positive, right?

I got a bunch of things recently, including this retro polka-dot swing dress, this backless/laced bustle dress, a really nice Per Una M&S dress in black/white/grey big flower print which sadly doesn't seem to be on their website anymore, a vintage Russian Navy hat which looks a little bit like this, these Urban Outfitters boots, a second-hand Collectif skirt which looks like this but with red naval stars instead of cats, some Iron Fist flats which look a bit like this but with more green and big rosettes, my big poofy petticoat which you saw at music swishing, my adored Necessary Evil coat, plus a bunch more second-hand stuff (stompy boots, black jeans, satin top, canvas skirt, loads of jewellery, etc etc) - I could go on for a while but you probably don't want me to ( ... )

Wow, I like that dress - pretty much my favourite colour scheme!

There looks to be a similar one with a slightly different cut around the neck and sleeves, too.

It's a good dress, and I think it's suit you too, but I slightly think the other style ('Angel' or something like that) might be a teeny bit more you? See what you think.

If it's the green and navy one, it's a nicer style but I don't like the colours very much.

Searching for 'angel' just got me bras for teenagers :)

No, same colours, just a slightly different cut. I'll see if I can find it again.

Here you go! I'd clearly misremembered "angled" as angel" - fail.

I like that one cos it looks very reminiscent of bike clothing!

I also like this one, but I'm kind of assuming you probably wouldn't want something with foofy puffed sleeves?

Aha, thanks! That is nice, but I'm probably not enough of a dress-wearer to justify it. (And puffed sleeves are out, yes - you have a good handle on my tastes. I do tend to like anything M&S do with the word 'colourblock' in the title.)

'Colourblock' is good. I'm not a fussy patterns person on the whole, I look better with big sections of single, bold colours.

Could you justify it for special occasions? Nice to have something in reserve, and I think this style is very versatile. But I also tend to wear dresses over trousers, so I expect I get more wear out of them that way.

I like it but think it might make me look a bit like an edgy deckchair!

Hm, there is always that danger. Don't wear brown tights with it so as to ensure your legs don't look like varnished wood? And get a nice red hair flower.

I didn't know about Dangerousfx and now I'm lost in the rockabilly section!

The new clothes all sound lovely, though :D

Dangerous FX live up to their name, cos they have lovely stuff, for good prices, in BIG SIZES. I've been very impressed by their service too.

My bank balance is correspondingly less impressed.

Yeah, I don't think my bank balance is going to like it, either. Thanks though, I was looking at the prices and wondering if it was too good to be true :)

No, they are real. Be aware that most of those things are unlined, though, which is part of how they can do those prices, I'm sure. They're obv not going to be stunning quality at those prices, but quite decent enough - think high street chain. The only problem I've had with any of the orders so far is that one of the dresses has a slightly stiff zip at the top, which I hope will loosen up after a bit more wear and isn't really a big deal. Other than that, fine.

Unlined and high street quality are fine- means my Mum's bank account won't be very happy either :)

They only take paypal online, but you can ring them up and pay by card over the phone. I got my first order within 2 days, and it's free postage over £50.
