I see where you're going wrong: you're using smooth instead of crunchy.

When I have "used" in the past, I have used SAINSBURYS ORGANIC er, blue flavour? There is also a red, I don't know which one was which but it was all very confusing.

The peanut butter is also next to GENTLEMEN's RELISH, which tempts me far more than any peanut butter (I have never had any)...

I'm still not entirely sure what umami means, mind.

I think of it as soy sauce + bovril + lea & perrins flavour, that sort of thing. I think MSG is prime synthesis of like, umami taste (and thus hooray for Ajinomoto!)

Okay, then I clearly have no idea at all! I just ticked it because it sounds like a nice word...

It is a nice word, it just means "good taste/flavour" in the nihongo, but that's not very HELPFUL is it? I don't know how to say in Japanese "er I dunno a bit like soy sauce innit", but it's probably not as snappy and wouldn't get those research council grants (not that it ever did in the first place) (oh well).

I have no idea where all these people who say it has sugar as an ingredient are getting their peanut butter from. As far as I am concerned the ingredients are PEANUTS, SOME KIND OF OIL, and SALT and that is it!

I admit I was VERY SURPRISED when I actually got some peanut butter and saw the ingredients list wasn't actually 99% sugar and a honey roasted peanut on top of it! But I did buy a health food brand??

I think the no sugar thing is pretty much normal for peanut butter IME - I have bought MANY different brands, and not just hippy health food ones, and they have never to my knowledge had sugar in them!

a decent peanut butter shouldnt need oil. the peanuts provide enough.

quite a lot use palm oil which as well all know kills orangoutangs

I wanted to tick sweet AND savoury; clearly there is a great need for this poll to clear up much peanut butter confusion!

As a teenager I once made a special trip to Golders Green to buy marshmallow fluff, but I have learned from the folly of my youth.

And after all this do I even find myself craving peanut butter? No!

Nandos, on the other hand...

marshmallow fluff is terrifying. I have the pink one. I haven't a clue what to do with it. It refuses to perish.
