An addendum to my last post

My cousin has stabilized. I even talked to him for a few minutes. He is going to be ok.
I take the wife out to lunch to calm us both down, and we get a call from her dad.
Kelli's mom had a heart attack. We don't know much. Her dad is on the way to the hospital.
Yeah, when it rains it pours.
I need a beer.

Isn't that the way of the world? One bad piece of news opens up that rift that allows other bad things to start pouring through. I'm beginning to wonder if that isn't what life is all about, closing the rifts one at a time until all is right with the world before another one pops open. My thoughts are with you.
