Back from the sunny island. It's been a long time since I did any weekend duties. Ever since June 2003 in fact. Did my first one yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom I had in the company for the entire day. Everywhere was quiet and peaceful, and I just read my comics, had a few rounds of game at the playstation2 and went for my meals in my t-shirt and shorts. There's no need for me to be in uniform at all. In summation, weekend duties aren't that sucky afterall, unless you have urgent stuff to tend to and the duties get in your way and spoil your wonderful plans.
I went out with Chee Kiong (my SISPEC friend) again. Met at Orchard, walked around almost all the Levi's stores but still we could not decide which series of jeans to buy. I tried both the red loop jeans, but decided that I wanted the 512 series instead. However the colours available were not very appealing. Dinner at Marche was disappointing; I made a wrong move by ordering smoked salmon with rosti. EEKs. bad combination. It simply did not suit my tastebud.
Highlight of the day was when Chee Kiong left to book in, I chose to continue my shopping alone instead of heading home. Solitude. I enjoyed that. Strolled around Raffles City, Marina Square, Suntec City...finally I ended up at the Esplanade. Nice weather. I saw the Embargo lounge and Centro, but strangely there was no queue. "Isn't it gay night?" I wondered. I was half expecting to see a long line of loud gay men, many with tanned and toned bodies clad with tank tops to flaunt those defined muscles, chatting away excitedly while waiting for their turns to enter. Perhaps it was too early. My purchases today: I bought a couple of fragrances at the same spot I bought mine last week. There's 2 forthcoming chalet/bbq I have to attend in the next 2 weekends. A classmate's and my army mate back in SISPEC. Hence I guess I shall just present them some designer labelled fragrances as birthday gifts.
Going back tomorrow noon. It will be a long week ahead. and there's the usual irritating company politics going on back in camp. Really detest such things, but they always happened. yawn...yawn...yawn...
