Watching documentaries is one of my favorite hobbies... recently I stumbled across a really amazing one on abortion. It was probably the most unbiased documentary I have ever watched, it was pretty incredible. It's *really* hard to make an unbiased film, especially on something so controversial.

My favorite part of the documentary was an interview with one scientist, sadly, who's name I've forgotten. Basically he said abortion is the act of taking a life. It doesn't matter when you abort a fetus, we can't put a timestamp on when life begins. It begins at conception. The question is not to ask ourselves if the fetus is alive, the question is why is it wrong to put an end to it's life. The act of killing a living thing is considered increasingly evil depending on how self-aware the organism is. That's why killing a plant isn't even considered killing, killing a bug doesn't get a second thought, killing a bird is frowned upon, killing a dog is wrong, killing an adult human is heinous. A fetus that's only a few weeks old isn't capable of wanting to continue living because it hasn't reached that level of self-awareness. So yes, by aborting a fetus you do take it's life, but it's not murder.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.
