The thing about the Jesus freak shouting on the park blocks is that I can't really understand any of the words he's shouting because he's so far away and there's a window (only slightly ajar) and trees between me and him. However, I can hear the TONES of his voice and they all more or less center around two notes, about a 4th apart. It kind of has a lilting 6/8 "quarter-eighth quarter-eighth, two and a half bars of rest, quarter-eighth quarter-eighth quarter-eighth, two bars of rest" sort of feel. Some extra pick-up beats here and there.

It gets a lot more musically interesting if some enraged students start trying to shout back.

Also, yesterday in class I learned a useful rhythmic shorthand, lines and dots and other lines... that kind of looks like a bunch of letters in a foreign language! So that makes me want to incorporate it as a minigame into Breadbros.' next large-scale storyline-based RPG.

"In the ancient script of the Astrafarians, we learn exactly what rhythmic combination is required to successfully trip the unlock code on each door we come across."
Or, "Deary me, the homicidal computer is forcing us to play a rhythm game to avoid getting ejected into space!" Perhaps have the unlock codes scrawled on one of the doors in blood and then find a bunch of others strewn about on tickertapes. Anyway.
