Okay, questions from me too. I have the reserve on Kenren from Saiyuki Gaiden (this is an RP journal but I'm too lazy to log out), and this raises a couple of issues for me.
1. Kenren being military is a certainty. I mean, it's canon. So, my question there is: how faithful do I have to be to the real US military? Because that's a lot of information to research just for an RP that's supposed to be fun. As long as I keep to real ranks and weapons can I make other shit up, like fake Operation names, fake divisions, fake bases, that kind of thing?
2. Would it be possible for him to have been stationed at the base where the nuclear test went horribly wrong, but have gone on leave just before? His commanding officer, Tenpou, is in canon very much the type to know more than he should and use the information to his own benefit. So it's not unreasonable that he'd go on leave if he suspected something was about to go horribly wrong, and send his favourite subordinate off as well. Where Tenpou himself went, of course, would be a mystery until/unless someone apped him, but Kenren could have decided to visit his hometown of Pleasantville for a while. Yes? No?
