a travesty!

Guys, I'm ABSOLUTELY DESPONDENT. You have no idea. OPETH and DREAM THEATER are touring together and hitting up Toronto May 24th. I could CRY. Why is it that after I leave the country, suddenly all the bands I desperately love decided to go visit the one country that they never cared about before? (Hello, Apocalyptica, I'm looking at you, too.) Fucking Opeth, man! If any of YOU are on my f-list and live in/near T.O., I will NEVER FORGIVE YOU if you skip this show. If I can't make it, at least somebody I know needs to go and tell me how awesome it is. I'm not even joking. If you don't go, I'll like... disown you or something. *rictus of a smile*

Blehh. I guess all the following stuff is self-consolation. Was supremely bored at work today (last day of school before spring vacation = nothing for me to do) so I doodled. One piece still needs to be cleaned up, but I finished this HP fanart. Or rather, I got sick and tired of it and called it finished.

title: the bathroom
characters: draco malfoy (harry potter)
rating: gen, g
media: ballpoint pen, adobe photoshop 7.0, mouse
time: too long for a crappy sketch.

P.S. Draco's expression = mine when I noticed the tour dates.

Also, since it was the last day of class, I was cleaning out my desk. Back in September, I handed all my ichinensei (16 years old, 320 of them) a survey to fill out about themselves. Then I made charts with those statistics for the next lesson to see the percentages of kids with certain birthdays, hometowns, favourite music, that kind of stuff. Call it a sociological experiment? Here are the charts if you're interested. The inner mind of a Japanese high school student?

Summer babies are so popular.

I teach in Toyohashi, so of course most of the kids were born here.

The media doesn't lie. Baseball is definitely big in Japan. But I was
surprised to see tennis so popular too.

Dogs win, flat out. But I'm amused that penguins are in the top 10.

Bump of Chicken, haha. Only one girl wrote Dir en grey.
And one boy wrote Dream Theater, which brings me back to my
initial tale of grief and misery.

I was VERY surprised to see fruits as the top food. You'd expect
kids to like cake/sweets the most, but I think it's because fruits
are so expensive here, it's like a luxury treat.

Also, watching Twin Peaks now. It's bizarre and fantastic (par for the course, Mr. David Lynch, no surprise to me). Agent Dale Cooper is the awesomest thing since Fox Mulder.
