I have no lives this month! I can't think of any I want to go to, and I'm not commuting to Tokyo. I feel like I should kind of put in the effort to see Versailles/chariots since they're in Nagoya this month, but I bet with my luck, they'll be sold out anyway. New
Girugamesh album is pretty awesome-- I may be inclined to like it more than 13's reborn. I'm definitely going to catch them in Hamamatsu, and probably Nagoya, too, in February.
Oddly though, I haven't been spinning the giru album much due to the fact that I've completely remembered why I love
Opeth. Yes, I do. For all you death metal detractors out there who can't take Akerfeldt's growls, the proggy Damnation album was MADE for you. It's so ineffably awesome-- as though Opeth suddenly decided to binge-listen on early King Crimson and Arabic shepherding folk songs and HELLO, Mellotron!... but they still manage to sound like themselves.

ClosureDamnation track 4, 2003
Heal myself-- a feather on my heart
Look inside-- there never was a start
Peel myself-- dispose of severed skin
All subsides-- around me and within
There's nothing painful in this
There's no upheaval
Redemption for my pathos
All sins undone
Awaiting word on what's to come
In helpless prayers a hope lives on
As I've come clean I've forgotten what I promised
In the rays of the sun I am longing for the darkness
I've been scaring myself into taking the MCAT again. I REALLY need to start studying for the May sitting in Osaka. I'm so worried that my being out of school for over half a year will work against me (has it been that long??!). I'm not too worried about verbal, but oh god, what do I remember of physical sciences? I'm gonna fail the physics and the organic chem! Also, I've been looking up American schools, and I'm getting anxious about the requirements. Some schools ask for at least two reference letters from lecture profs. Now, I have references, but they're not all lecture profs. I'm just going to hope that Gray-Owen remembers who the hell I am. If he refuses, it'll be down to begging Cuff, from classics. :O!!!
