Hooray for change

Just have to say that this is the most strange, yet engrossing map of Canada I have yet to see.

I hope the change continues beyond the next 4 years, but I have high hopes for this new government. Sure, it's a majority Conservative government, but I never would have expected to have the opposition actually be something other than either the Libs or the Cons. The 31% popular vote for NDP sprung from seemingly nowhere. Am I remembering 2008 correctly? I almost wish my riding was a part of that, but I can't fault us for voting loyally red. I'm fond of our Lib MP, he's always had a good presence, though I can't say the Liberal Party itself seems to know what it's doing. Nonetheless, besides the Spadina-downtown areas that were always orange, I'm slightly confused by how BLUE the GTA voted in general. In fact, all of Southern Ontario. Where did this come from???

Well-done to the riding of Saanich-Gulf Islands. I have never heard of you before, but you managed to get the Green Party its first ever seat in the house, and that just thrills me.

Quebec, I am surprised you have given up the long-nurtured sovereignty dream, at least for now, in favour of supporting the orange wave. Hopefully, this is the first step to a less fractured national identity.

Goodbye, Duceppe. Goodbye, Ignatieff~
