pic post and miscellany

I decided to clean out my keitai and digital camera pics, and I guess here's a dump of them. They extend from some time ago!

Somewhere in there are some thoughts about the May 9th lynch./heidi. gig in Nagano, though I've left it for so long that it's mostly just bits and pieces.

This thing is hilarious. I found it in a home hardware type store here and it's called a TA-BOW. It's like a towel bandanna old men wear around their heads in the heat to keep the sweat out of their faces while they're mowing the lawn or doing construction work. I wanted to get my dad one.

Just before Valentine's Day this year, the cooking club girls made me a strawberry cake. ;-; I love them. <3 They are the sweetest kids.

There's a crazy cat lady who lives close to my place. There's also a river nearby so the 12-or-so cats always hang out there. Awww, those river cats. They are also sweet, lol. I am going to miss them.

Got a new haircut, but it was like 3-4 weeks ago, and I already feel like it's getting shaggy. Why does my hair grow so fast?

Ok, this is just about the most awesome thing ever. I went to a restaurant in a little town nearby called Mito and I ordered coffee. The foam came in the shape of a bear face!!! AGGGH, Japan, you know how to do cute so well!

And then I ate its face.

Went to Kyushu for Golden Week and found this sushi shop in the middle of nowhere, a city called Nobeoka (Miyazaki pref.). The strange character is apparently "shime". I asked the sushi chef and told him I hadn't ever seen it before and he was like, "but aren't you Japanese?" D:

So then, for May 9-10, harmlessbondage and I went to Nagano to ostensibly see lynch./heidi. play Nagano CLUB JUNK BOX. We are such bandgirls. But at least we got some touristy stuff in. (It wasn't just one expensive live!) We visited Zenkouji, this famous temple but I neglected to take any photos really because it was so crowded and commercialized. We went to Matsumoto city afterwards which was way neater because of a CASTLE. I am a CASTLE FIEND. :(

The view from our cheap business hotel. Right across JR Nagano Station!

heidi. and lynch.! Yay.

JUNK BOX is on the 7th floor of a department store called "again". It's old and dark, and the space is similar to Nagoya ell fits ALL. While we were in there, we spontaneously shopped. And saw these ridiculously cute baby clothes. Their butts are animals! Agggghhh!

heidi. played first and lynch. second, so lynch. got the encore. The live house was SO BADLY ventilated. I don't think they even turned on the AC, because we were just SO HOT. It was unbeliveable. I thought I might pass out during the encore. Afterwards, I was just so drenched with sweat, mine and other people's. GROSS. Hazuki must've thought it was hot too, because he stripped off his leather jacket in only the second song into his tank top (Jazz and I were chanting for it too, lol).

heidi. was good. The last time I saw them was before the album came out, so a lot of new material. I was getting really hot even during their set and I wasn't doing anything... so I was pretty worried about lynch.'s set. It doesn't help that lynch. fans are kind of assholes and take up the front space even when they don't need to (i.e. during heidi.'s set). Yoshihiko had his cry-face on. I don't know why he looks so tragic sometimes and so genki at others. During their MC, Yoshihiko mentioned that it was Yusuke's (lynch.) birthday. Awwww...

I have also developed the perfect way to yell for Kiri, the drummer. Bwahaha... I'm told it's pretty creepy.

lynch. was good as usual, too. But Reo has done something AWFUL to his hair, what the fuck. He's dyed the entire top layer this horrible orange-blond colour and left the bottom-most layer black. It looks so shoddily done... not to mention Reo looks good in black anyway. I hope he goes back to it. :( Yusuke is looking more like his old THE BURIED days. Hazuki got a haircut and looks less... leonine. But he still needs to stop making himself ugly, haha.

DOZE is a mean song. We were packed in so tight that when the audience backed up to headbang to this, some girl knocked into my chin and I bit my tongue. It hurt :( It's not even a glamorous injury!

I was so surprised they did prominence because they almost never do that at non-onemans! It was awesome. I just love it. But Hazuki didn't do the epic scream at the build-up.

They played Shadows and one new song that they'd already played at Takadanobaba AREA the day before. I'm pretty sure I've heard it before... it's that mid-tempo kind of rocker. Anyway, they've got about 4 unreleased songs so here's to hoping for an album.

I love how when Hazuki yells out, "LAST SONG!!!" everyone knows to back up and brace for pulse_. I fucking love that song. It's such a good way to close a set and the "yaritai" parts are so fun.

During the MC they talked about Yusuke's birthday but the band is just so mean! Hazuki was like, "I had no idea it was his birthday!" Only Reo knew and he said he had given his gift back in January. Err, what? Shame on lynch. Yusuke is such a sweetheart. So they did the encore and when he was leaving (he was the last to leave), Yusuke said, "The greatest birthday gift of all is to be able to perform with lynch. for all of you". He is just so precious! ♥

After we stumbled out (completely dehydrated and mauled!), we took some photos of JUNK BOX's posters. They had a neat collection of signed posters.

Coll:set era D'espairsRay. Natsukashii!

Pre-Yusuke era signed poster of lynch., probably on their tour for the "Underneath the skin" album. That poster is worth money!!!

Speaking of lynch., I saw this for the first time the other day (it's obviously a promo shot for Ambivalent Ideal, but I've never seen it before):

That is the scariest photo ever. What the hell, Hazuki!

So here are the Nagano and Matsumoto photos. Non-band related, heh.

There was something going down at Zenkouji that day... the queue was enormously long. We didn't even try getting into the inner sanctum. I didn't bother posting a photo of the temple because all things considered, it was what you'd expect a temple to look like.

This very lovely stream in Matsumoto. The carp banners for Boy's Day were up.

Some nice orange flowers in the castle park.

Approaching the castle (the "Black Crow Castle"). Extraordinarily well-preserved. No reconstructed cement here! (*cough*Osakajo... Nagoyajo*cough*)

The moat had swans!

Excellence.

Wisteria, hanging off things. It smelled really nice in the breeze.

The castle even had an old bridge left standing but we weren't allowed to walk on it.

Ok, my wrists are getting carpal tunnel syndrome. Time to cut this entry short!
