Body Image.
This is what my entry today is going to be dedicated to.
Today me and Farah were talking on the phone and somehow the subject turned to body image. So I said how all the models were too thin and how I don't know why anyone would want to have sex with one of those models, who's hip bones are like sticking a mile away from their bodies. It's all sorts of sick, really. And it really got to me. I mean, why are we always pressured to be so thin. I'm not saying we should be fat, but why are we pressured ALL THE TIME to look like the people we see on TV and in magazines? It seems nowadays you aren't hot if you don't border on annorexia, and people aren't doing anything to help it. Even people like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilaira, with their skinny bodies and ugly huge fake boobs. Why can't they put on a little weight and make a statement, like "It's OK to be normal." This applies to guys too, people like Usher and B2K and whatever, they don't do us guys any favours by flaunting their six packs left right and center. Why can't they be like, um, Kelly Clarkson for example. Look at her, she's not overweight at all, but she's a NORMAL WOMAN. And she's succesful, and I'd do her over Britney and Christina anyday (yes, believe it or not). I was just watching TV and this guy (His name is mick hunnel or SOMTHING, he's old and ginger and ugly and used to be / is in Simply Red), his video (like all his others) consisted of hot people pouring alchohol on each other. Because, you know, THAT'S THE NORM. It actually made me feel sick and I had to change the channel, and I'm not that big a drama queen in reality.
It just really, really annoys me when people are starting to think that being thin is the norm, and when I look at stores an all I can find are sized XS and S, and the models plastered all over the windows are perfect. If anything, I blame such a huge portion of people being overweight on this. It really effects self esteems (I know it does mine) and It's ugly.
I'm sorry if I've rambled, I may have not even made a point there, but I needed to get it off my chest.
