such an incredible show. everything was so theatrical, everyone looked magical. we saw tristan there, which was a surprise. then we met up with sarah and rachel. the first opener was dawn fawn, who was androgenous and beautiful with a very strong voice. kate was just taking everything in...then devotchka, who i liked more, they played the theremin, (the sciencefiction wooooooo instrament, i know thats really descriptive...) which i thought was great. then the costume contest, which was won by a 7 foot frankenstein with huge platform boots. he won an autographed keyboard. then of course....the dresden dolls. they both had colds, so amanda got a box of tissues brought to her between songs. aww....we found it insanely cute how every time she sang about dysfunctional love (which was most of the time) brian kind of looked sad and dejected. the hosts were a bald ballerina and a guy with 3 points of oompa-loompa looking hair :D we talked to the ballerina for a while. between sets they had a circus act going, but we couldnt see it from where we were... the ballerina also can be seen in the back of some pictures suspended from a strip of cloth, dancing. all in all, it was like nothing i had ever seen and i definately want to do more things like it.

kate finally caught on that her picture was being taken.

as soon as we got into lupos, there were performance artists. so many people dressed up pretending to be statues, a faery in the cage, these women being painted...it was incredible. kate was completely blown away, as was i : )
