THIS IS A BLAINE ANDERSON POST: THE SUBSTITUTE VERSION
This is a post about Blaine Anderson. It was going to be about all the episodes he’s in so far, but it got to 1,500 words about “Never Been Kissed” so I thought I’d do it episode by episode instead.
DISCLAIMER: I’ve seen a lot of hate regarding Blaine recently and, well, I just kinda ( Read more... )

Thanks for another lovely post!

I remember when I originally saw this episode I was so eager to see Blaine again after "Never Been Kissed". I liked how Kurt seemed to be enjoying his new friendship (was kind of sad that all those "dates" happened off screen though!) I thought that Kurt obviously liked spending time with Blaine a lot (and vice versa). I felt like Kurt was maybe trying to be a little more practical than in the past (or at least trying to sound that way), not declaring anything more than friendship yet. I wondered how Blaine felt (if he considered these to be dates) or if he was just taking Kurt under his wing as a mentor.

The scene at Breadstix: I thought they both looked so adorable (especially loved Blaine's eyeroll)! Blaine seemed very considerate and intelligent and interested in engaging Mercedes in the conversation.
The first time I saw it, I was vaguely disappointed in some way because they were so giddy and giggly and I had hoped there would be maybe more romantic tension or something (I know, I know, I was rushing things, but "Teenage Dream" had been so dreamy). But then I really liked it because they were both so happy! Kurt is just having fun and so is Blaine. It's like they're so glad to have found a kindred spirit to relate to.

Another side of Blaine is revealed as well, so it's good for character development (I realized, sadly, that Kurt and Blaine wouldn't be the center of every episode, but they made the most of their time). Blaine isn't so serious and mentor-ly here, and we see that maybe Kurt allows him to be freer and show different aspects of himself than he does at Dalton (we get more of that contrast in the next episode...)

I also liked how attentively Blaine looked at Kurt when he spoke!

Ty!

Yeah, I agree with all of this! I like the balance between friendship and the chance of romance and everything...

Just. ALL THAT YOU SAID
