THIS IS A BLAINE ANDERSON POST: NEVER BEEN KISSED VERSION

This is a post about Blaine Anderson. It was going to be about all the episodes he’s in so far, but it got to 1,500 words about “Never Been Kissed” so I thought I’d do it episode by episode instead.

DISCLAIMER: I’ve seen a lot of hate regarding Blaine recently and, well, I just kinda ( Read more... )

feeling: cynical, fandom: glee, pairing: kurt/blaine, character: blaine

So can this comm just make an anthology of posts like this or what. How many others are making wonderful posts like these? /slowly raises hand

Yes to this post. I really don't understand how not fighting against Karofsky = coward. Well, yes, Blaine may have admitted how he ran away from his old school, and it's quite obvious that he views it as cowardice, but still. His stance when Karofsky had him up the fence was more like, "Whoa, hold on, I don't mean any harm." Like aelora said, he seems more like a pacifist than anything.

And Blaine hate? No me gusta. And I don't understand sometimes how people think he's such a bad person. I found most of the things people use against him as justifiable actions given the situation (i.e., BIOTA fight, bad advice) and well, it's not as if he's not a teenager or anything right?

I wish I knew! I want to stalk all the Blaine-meta. I love me some Blaine meta. I am meta-ing on scenes that Blaine isn't present in hi, episode seven.

I wish we knew more about Blaine's bullying history - it'd make understanding him so much easier. I always naturally assumed that his bullying was more verbal/vandalism than what Kurt's suffered, so... Yeah. Basically what aelora said, that angel.

Haha, yes. Oh, man, I am going to write SO MUCH about Blame it. I can't even.

It's always so interesting to read them all, methinks. Even if 100% of the time I'm like "Yes, this, I AGREE." how do you even

Me too, man. I was more glad than probably appropriate when that little tidbit about his relationship with his father came out, and I just need some more Blaine backstory. REALLY.

BIOTA, for all it's drawbacks, had that golden quote from Blaine during the coffee shop fight with Kurt, and I just. Literally want to take it apart and chew thoroughly for all it's worth because I thought it revealed a lot about him.

YEAH. And then sometimes you think OH, I DIDN'T NOTICE THAT and you go back and rewatch and it's like. Oh, oh BLAINE oh. And it hurts but it's so goood....

I had a little fangirl fit, then I was like YES HEADCANON WAS RIGHT. Then I realised all the pain and the hurt and Burt and yeah. THAT SCENE. FJSKDG.

Gosh, yes, oh my gosh. I had a chat with a friend about that scene earlier and there's just so much so say, so much under it that it is like a never ending essay.

I was rewatching all the Blaine scenes and literally taking notes on it for my own long-overdue Blaine-meta and what you said is TOO TRUE. Just, suddenly things make sense? Idk lol

THAT ONE MOMENT WHEREIN YOU'RE HOPING HE HAS SOME DADDY ISSUES, and find out it's canon. Oops. :'(

Maybe it's just me, but if you tie in that with his relationship with his dad, yeah, I think it suddenly makes sense just why he would give a second thought about his sexuality. Something like that.

YUP. I have little notepad pages of headcanon for Blaine pinned to my wall. Everything. It just all clicks.

POOR BB. I look forward to more Burt+Blaine family-ness though.

THIS IS WHAT I SAID:
[01:07] Rachel: Blaine has lived for years, probably uprooted his life, because of the fact that he is gay.
[01:07] Rachel: Imagine how upset, afraid, and devested he is thinking he might not be.
[01:07] Rachel: I mean, add that to what we learn about his dad
[01:07] Rachel: I would not have been as :)) as Blaine was at first.
[01:07] Rachel: I would have been a MESS.
[01:08] Rachel: Can you imagine him telling his dad OH BTDUBS I'M NOT GAY AKSHULLY.
[01:08] Rachel: It would be torture.
[01:08] Donya: dioejfiesnkd
[01:09] Rachel: Imagine if he did, and then afterwards he kissed Rachel and he was like... oh god.
[01:09] Rachel: His dad would probably have been so HAPPY that his son wasn't gay.
[01:09] Rachel: I don't blame Blaine for wanting to be a little straighter.

The Burt+Blaine family-ness fanfics I've been reading all break my heart but yes, do want. ;_; I JUST WANT HIM TO BE SAFE AND HAPPY.

THIS EXACTLY. Honestly, it seems to me that Blaine has some internal self-issues as well. "You're 100% sure of who you are, fantastic. Well, maybe we all can't be so lucky" and "I'm honestly just trying to figure out who I am." Blaine, bb, come here and let b_d take care of you forever.

There's a quote that has always stuck with me:"He has great self-loathing and wishes he would have handled himself differently, and those things will play out over the course of the season - trying to rectify what he perceives as weakness and wrongdoing on his own part."
And then in the interview before Paley Darren talked about the bi-thing and I was like OH BB YOU KNOW YOUR CHARACTER SO WELL I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND HIM. He just wants to work out who he is, his standing, but at the same time he's so desperate to make everyone around him happy; he can't do both and it's killing him inside, I think.

Oh, all the mother hens in b_d would SMOTHER him ♥

That quotation also makes me wonder what the original story arc was for Blaine before they were sure if Darren would be a regular, and if that's what they were referring to. I wonder if we're going to see more of this addressed, the "rectifying wrongdoing". Maybe he'll talk a little about his past when Kurt is discussing returning to McKinley.

I want Blaine to feel good about himself now though and enjoy being with Kurt (they really can complement and help one another). I hope he's getting over his self-loathing, not feeling so lost. At some point I want to see more with his family too. Maybe they can save some interesting stuff for next season.

You know how they had so many holiday-themed episodes of Glee this season? Maybe we could spend Thanksgiving with the Andersons next year and get a look at his dad.

Ouch, that quote. It hurts so so good.

See, that's another thing about Blaine, I think. He's a general people-pleaser, even if it's to his own expense. He tries hard to make it right for those he cares about and those associated with them, usually by projecting what he wished was done to him or something like that, that he forgets that he himself is still a teenager and should allow himself to be a little bit selfish once in a while.

Oh yes, yes we all would. Blaine/Happiness and all is right.
