well, it certainly has been a while since I've last updated. And for good reason, I've been doing things, sorta.
I've gone to some good shows this month, but will unfortunetly miss melt banana tomorrow because of the not having anyone to go with plus no transportation problem. Um, I thought for a while I had a date with this girl megan who works at victor's, however she cancelled for friday and says I should find a better day for her. ok, that's fine.
Took my blood shirt to this evening's show, definetly appropriate for the music being played. Saw some good bands, most notable being doomsday 1999 and big business, the first being a retardo jokey grind/deathmetal band and the other being a heavy and thick-as-fuck bass and drum duo, in the vein of karp, melvins and other heavier than thou bands. Akimbo went on last, and they are always good but their brand of hardcore is starting to bore me, infact most plain "good" hardcore is starting to bore me now. Although I will say that nat damn is a fucking great drummer, and the addition of a second guitarist does well to fill out their already dense wall of noise.
I finally got to wear my blood shirt in public. The only people who commented on it were the people I knew; it apparently was so convincing that amy was hesitant to hug me thinking it was either wet or real... mostly people just staired. Oh yeah, because I was the only person rocking out, the first band, LAHAR gave me a free cd for being enthusiastic and an invite to a show (which of course I still have to pay to get in). Speaking of LAHAR, they were pretty good, at least technically speaking. They certainly break no new ground in the fast metalcore genre (although it seems the point of metal has hardly ever been about being original) and were all very competent musicians and rocked pretty hard. I could totally see these dudes on headbangers ball.
AGAIN, the hipsters, perhaps too ornate to do anything other than stand cold and silent, did not move... even to the insane blast beats and double bass drum onslaught of doomdsay 1999 and akimbo. I mean, come on people, I understand you're just hear to be seen and to sniff all the other hipsters asses like dogs, but for christ sakes, this is a fucking hardcore show, allow yourselves a little rock-out time; I swear no one will care you are enjoying yourself.
Those are the most notable things - oh yeah my mom quit smoking, which is nothing short of incredible, I'm really proud of her.
-I was really depressed, but now feel fine.
-I guess I broke my mom's vcr, at least that's what she insists.
-I haven't played any video games in nearly two months with one exception
-I've barely watched any anime or read any manga lately
-I've come up with another "best band name ever" which is SCROTAL APOCOLYPSE
-Twice now I've rode my bike to bothell and back, next stop - seattle
