Beginning the End of the Holiday Season (and 2017)

December feels like a taking-stock month for me. It's typically pretty hectic, and the weekdays are pretty impossible in terms of doing anything social, so the weekends get packed quickly. We still want to see The Shape of the Water, probably today. There's still Star Wars, I guess. And we've got another movie we'd rented, plus, if it's possible, we tried to watch GitS Solid State Society and never got to it, and I kind of want to do what before the year is over.

I seriously can't believe it's been only a year and, also, I can't believe it's been an entire year already. Every period of time feels simultaneously to have been very long and very brief.

I'm really not planning on doing all that much personal work in this period - just obligatory visits (already packed too full, and stopping us from going to some of the social events we'd like to - we won't be free until after Christmas), and when we're not doing the obligatory stuff, just movies and reading. I probably won't even mess with playing games or writing much until January, when I plan on doing a lot of my writing during the work day (as more or less part of my work period) and games during my time off.

I know I've become a lot less social during these last few years, but it's been working out for me in other ways. I've done a lot of writing, and it's taken a lot of time for me to get past the phase where everything's been either garbage or for someone else, and I like the progress I've made. I've probably got this post and maybe two more for the rest of the month - and that will wrap up 2017 in a way I'm comfortable with here.
