AC Report and Thanks
Below is my report from Anthrocon 2008. I had a great time.
If anyone didn't know, I was once again at AC this year, and had a complete blast. It always amazes me the way that the city of Pittsburgh welcomes us in each year. The panels I managed to attend where top notch, the guest of honor was great, the entertainment was all wonderful, and, despite the constant break beats, the dances where good. I got to see almost everyone that I wanted to meet up with and spent more time then usual exploring the area around the convention center.
There where a few moments that really stood out at this convention that I should probably mention. The first would be when I ended up alone in an elevator going up on Saturday night. I was in suit at the time and decided it would be funny to stand in a gun fighter stance as the doors opened. The guy that was getting on did the best double take ever. Moment number two would be the dance on Saturday. I was invited to several area raves by random people watching me spin and I had two very lovely ladies complement me on my poi spinning. The last involved walking down the street holding hands with my mat Cyan Leopard. A straight couple was walking by and out of nowhere the guy started talking about how cool he though it was that we where a couple and how he could respect us for showing our love. I have had a lot of reactions to being gay before, but never one like that. My first AC thank you goes to that random guy on the street for making me feel good about being who I am.
The next goes to my beloved mate Cyan Leopard. Thank you for the wonderful weekend honey. You really make my world feel complete when you are around. I love the poi that you bought me. My next thank you goes out to Kohaku, the skunk with the Canadian flag. You are a great friend and one of the most entertaining people I know. Next convention the smokes are on me how about? I owe a thank you to Damaron. You are a big sweet heart you know that. If you ever need anything just say the word. All of my roommates and ride share buds also deserve a shout out. Snap and Dagith, you can have the music you wanted when I get my gear back. *smirk*
