Oblivion, Tamela, and allthosemovies

My time budgeting during this summer can be neatly divided into three categories: the time that I spend working, the time that I spend being a fly-on-the-wall for Tamela (who is actually Dr. Gilbert, but it's just a matter of time until I address her by name to her face; but at least this suggests I'm comfortable around her), and the time that I spend playing Oblivion on my younger brother's newly-acquired XBox360. On Dad's newly-acquired projection-screen television. In between rides in Mum's newly-acquired black Lexus convertible.

Hmph. I head away for a few months and everyone picks up a mid-life crisis.

I've also been watching a lot of horror movies, especially those wonderful, campy ones from the second half of the 1980s. Hellraiser. The Exorcist. A Nightmare On Elm Street. A Nightmare On Elm Street 2. A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 (no joke). A Nightmare On Elm Street 4 (not at all). A Nightmare On Elm Street 5. A Nightmare On Elm Street: Freddy's Dead. Freddy Vs. Jason. (And Eraserhead and Blue Velvet, which I suppose don't really count, but it's not so far off.) And that Q. Tarantino-produced one -- The Hostel -- at my friend Blake's insistence. Season One of Twin Peaks is lined up next.

I've been back at home in Kentucky for just a month now, and I miss school. I wonder how all those summer-class taking friends of mine are doing up there.
