The rest of the day panned out pretty much in the same scary way. Whenever Manabu was with Mizuki, Mizuki had gotten hurt, which frightened Manabu. Whenever he was with Kazuki, someone else ended up suffering the consequences. The thought scared him. Why was someone playing all of these silly pranks on him?

After school was over, Kazuki invited Manabu to sit with him at the cherry blossom pathway. Manabu figured he should come so that he could patch up some of Kazuki’s bruises. He headed to the convenience store first before arriving at the cherry blossom pathway.

When he arrived, he found Kazuki sitting on the bench alone. Kazuki held his index finger out in which a small bird was perched on it. He reached over to pet the bird’s feather, but when he did the bird immediately took flight and flew away from his grasp.

Kazuki sighed and gazed up at the sky with a melancholy face. His eyes seemed to be searching for something that didn’t seem possible to obtain.

“Hey.” Manabu snuck up behind Kazuki.

Kazuki was startled by Manabu’s voice. “Whoa! I didn’t see you there.”

Manabu took a seat next to him and immediately took out the alcohol bottle and the bag of cotton balls. If he couldn’t get Kazuki to speak, then the least he could do was to aid in the healing process of his wounds. He couldn’t sit back and not do anything for Kazuki especially when Kazuki had already done so much for him.

“Uh, what’s that for?” Kazuki pointed at the items in Manabu’s hands.

“It’s for your bruises, you idiot.” Manabu told him.

“What? I don’t need those, Manabu-kun. I’m perfectly fine!” Kazuki protested against the idea.

Receiving help was the ultimate form of weakness. His father taught him that as he grew up. He couldn’t receive assistance.

“Well, too bad. You’re getting it.” Manabu adamantly said.

Damn. Why was Manabu so persistent? Kazuki cutely pouted wearing some puppy eyes in hopes that Manabu would drop the case. “But Manabuuuu….”

“Stop being a five year old, Kazuki. Let me dab some of this alcohol on.” Manabu already poured the alcohol on the cotton ball.

Kazuki saw he couldn’t change Manabu’s mind. Normally, he would coerce the other person to listen to him, but he felt… this would be a request he could listen to. Even if it was against his mafia principles.

“Fine.” Kazuki frowned.

“It’s going to sting a little.” Manabu warned him in advance.

“You don’t have to tell me that. Just hurry up.” Kazuki urged him.

Manabu lightly dabbed the bruise on Kazuki’s cheek. So far Kazuki didn’t say anything or peep a sound. He wondered if Kazuki was used to this. Manabu noticed a split wound on the side of his right lower lip. He would have to get it. Manabu lightly pressed the cotton ball on the wound hoping Kazuki wouldn’t react violently.

The alcohol fucking hurt, but he withheld the signs of pain although his body was involuntarily startled at the sensation. It fucking stung like hell. The thorn-like sensations reminded him of his father’s punches and brutal smacks. This sort of feeling should have been normal, but…

Manabu could tell, only from experience, that Kazuki was restraining himself. He supposed Kazuki was trying to act like the tough guy.

“Alright. Close your eyes so I can get the bruise.” Manabu instructed him.

“Okay. Better not do anything funny.” Kazuki said in a sarcastic manner.

Manabu scoffed. “If anything, I should be saying that.”

“Hehe.” Kazuki stuck out his tongue and closed his eyes.

Manabu softly tapped against his eye after putting more alcohol on the cotton. He was surprised Kazuki hadn’t made a sound.

Kazuki tightly gripped against the bench the entire time as he bit on his tongue to prevent himself from crying out in pain. He had suffered worse before… especially from his father. He remembered in his younger days how he went training with his father. Unlike most teachers, his father did everything seriously. There was no such thing as making careless errors or any forgiveness. Every time was the real thing. Even if he didn’t know what he was doing. It was his father’s way of toughening him up to the real world since ‘there was only once chance to do everything right’.

“You can open your eyes now.” Manabu told him.

He felt Manabu sticking a Band-Aid on the corner of his lip where the split was. Kazuki touched the Band-Aid wondering if Manabu truly felt the same for him. Thinking back on it, Manabu did return each and every one of his sweet kisses. It had to be, right? Manabu loved him as well. Or why else would Manabu tolerate someone as annoying as him? Kazuki watched Manabu put away all of the first aid items that he brought with him. If he admitted it first to Manabu, would Manabu return the same answer to him?

“Manabu.” Kazuki cupped Manabu’s cheek and turned his head around.

Manabu’s eyes instinctively widened as he stared face-to-face with Kazuki. What was he going to do? “What?”

“Do you believe in love?” Kazuki unexpectedly asked him.

“Huh? Why are you asking?” Manabu’s heart started to race.

Kazuki gently traced over Manabu’s lips with his fingers. Kazuki leaned in closer to Manabu and whispered into his ear, “Because I do.”

Manabu could barely breathe or think coherently. What exactly did Kazuki mean? What was he trying to point at?

Kazuki wrapped his arms around Manabu bringing him in closer and lightly pressed his lips against Manabu’s. Manabu closed his eyes focusing only on the taste and the touch of Kazuki’s lips. It was soft and smooth as well as enticing. Why did he yearn for it so much?

When Kazuki temporarily parted his lips, Manabu thought he was done, but Kazuki continued to initiate the kisses. Kazuki continued to lean his body weight onto Manabu without even realizing it. He couldn’t help it. He was dying to kiss Manabu. God… his insides were exploding. They were on fire.

Manabu grasped onto the armrest located on the edge of the bench in order to prevent hitting his head against it. Slowly, he noticed that Kazuki’s body was partially on top of his. Manabu used his other hand to grab Kazuki’s shoulder to stop him.

“Kazuki-senpai…” Manabu breathlessly uttered after Kazuki attacked him with so many kisses.

Kazuki didn’t understand why Manabu was stopping him. He pushed aside Manabu’s hand and cocked his head to whiff the scent on Manabu’s neck. Hmm… It was calling out for him.

Manabu’s body tingled as Kazuki’s body rubbed against his own. God! Not only was this awkward, but immensely strange!

Kazuki lightly kissed Manabu’s neck from the top to the bottom. Manabu lightly gasped at each wet kiss Kazuki placed on his neck. It made his whole body burn. What kind of spell was Kazuki putting him under?

Kazuki reached to the bottom of Manabu’s neck and quickly licked it. He soon realized he couldn’t continue. Damn. Manabu’s shirt was in the way. He noticed Manabu’s hand still holding onto the armrest. Hmm… He slid himself down on the bench taking Manabu with him… so that Manabu’s head wouldn’t collide against the armrest. Perhaps this would make it easier for Kazuki to make out with Manabu.

“Kazuki-senpai? What are you doing?” Manabu worriedly inquired. Oh, shit. Kazuki slid him down so that they would be perfectly positioned to freely make out.

He then reached for the buttons on Manabu’s blue and white dress shirt. Ah, yes. He remembered he had bought this for Manabu. He hastily unbuttoned the first and second one without any resistance. He saw more of Manabu’s chest exposed to him. Hmm, just a little further…

“Kazuki-senpai!” Manabu was highly embarrassed at how openly Kazuki was stripping him. “Stop-”

But Kazuki cut him off by deeply kissing him again. He continued to deeply kiss Manabu again and again. He couldn’t get enough of Manabu’s sweet lips. He wondered if Manabu’s lips were so sweet, what the rest of him tasted like.

Manabu couldn’t help, but return each and every one of Kazuki’s forceful, but passionate kisses. He never gave Manabu any room to catch his breath or register what was going on. He squirmed underneath Kazuki, but Kazuki laid his body on top of Manabu’s making sure he couldn’t escape.

Manabu’s body grew cold when Kazuki’s erection brushed against his. He was about to shove Kazuki off of him, but Kazuki erratically placed another kiss on his lips.

“Do you like it… Manabu-kun?” Kazuki seductively whispered in a low voice when he parted his lips from Manabu.

Manabu was about to disagree, contrary to his real emotions, but Kazuki scratched underneath Manabu’s chin with his fingernails and crawled up to kiss Manabu’s ear. Manabu’s entire face fiercely burned like red tomatoes. All of these unknown emotions were bottling up his heart. Bah, his mind couldn’t form a single, coherent thought! Kazuki chuckled when he noticed Manabu’s cute facial expression.

Kazuki lightly sucked his lips onto Manabu’s who opened his mouth as well. Kazuki took this chance to slip his tongue inside of Manabu’s mouth and against Manabu’s tongue. He purposely rubbed his body against Manabu while he deepened the kiss. God, his body was receiving such an adrenaline rush.

Manabu’s body shivered when Kazuki’s erection rubbed against his with much more force than last time. He would have pushed Kazuki away, but Kazuki had perfect timing and deeply kissed him. Damn… Why were Kazuki’s kisses irresistible?

Kazuki had done this several times and each time Manabu’s body heightened to a new feeling. It was becoming almost unbearable.

When Kazuki finally stopped, they were both catching their breaths, but Kazuki went ahead and licked Manabu’s cheek.

“Ah, Kazuki-senpai, please. This is-” Manabu breathlessly spoke, but Kazuki placed his finger over Manabu’s red, cherry lips.

“Didn’t I already tell you to call me Kazuki? No need for the formalities, Manabu-kun.”

Kazuki slid his fingers down Manabu’s neck and down to Manabu’s partially exposed chest. He wanted to rip off Manabu’s shirt, but Manabu might be upset at him if he outright took off his shirt. He reminded himself to take this slow and easy. He sneakily reached underneath Manabu’s shirt hoping to ease the process.

Manabu gasped when Kazuki’s cold hand landed on his bare on skin. He was about to reproach Kazuki, but Kazuki crushed his lips onto Manabu’s again pouring in his passionate feelings all at once. Kazuki’s tongue entered Manabu’s mouth trying to find Manabu’s tongue. It took a while, but he managed to slide right against it. But this time he intertwined with Manabu’s tongue. He didn’t want to let it go.

Manabu was hypnotized by Kazuki and wouldn’t have let go until Kazuki’s erection rubbed against his own for the third time. He abruptly cut off Kazuki’s kiss by turning his head away. Kazuki didn’t understand what was wrong with Manabu. Did he kiss Manabu in some wrong way? Then he realized how his body was resting on top of Manabu’s. Manabu attempted to push him back, but Kazuki purposely stuck his body on top of Manabu’s.

“Kazuki-” Manabu was about to scold at him.

“Not getting off. Especially when we’re getting to the good part!” Kazuki lifted up his body to hover over Manabu and swiftly unbuttoned his shirt.

Kazuki heard Manabu loudly gasp. He attempted to grab Kazuki to get him away, but Kazuki was faster than him. He methodically lifted up each hand, originally propped onto the bench to keep him hovering over Manabu, and held Manabu’s wrists down to the bench rendering him useless. He even wrapped his legs around Manabu so that he couldn’t kick him. He leaned down to impulsively lick Manabu’s chest all the way up to his throat.

Manabu restrained himself from shouting or doing something violent. Kazuki’s legs were against his and he had him completely tied down to the bench. Oh, goddammit!

His body trembled at the wet sensation of Kazuki’s tongue wiping against his bare skin. He was nearly frightened by this unknown feeling. His heart was pounding rapidly as his veins were quickly pulsating. He couldn’t control this odd, tingling feeling inside. What was this?

Kazuki wasn’t satisfied by the kisses. He wanted to step it up a notch, but was Manabu even ready? Damn! His lustful feelings wouldn’t settle down. It kept on rapidly growing. He didn’t know why, but he only became so impulsive around Manabu. Damn… He even wanted to hear Manabu let out those noises of pleasure… Was he going insane or stupid?

Kazuki nuzzled his face against Manabu’s neck. Manabu’s skin was soft, warm, and smooth. Not to mention that he received a good amount of satisfaction tasting his skin. But he was aiming to taste even more. Kazuki turned to face Manabu eye-to-eye and commented, “Did anyone ever tell you… how beautiful you looked?”

Manabu immensely blushed at Kazuki’s compliment. Was Kazuki being serious? Or was he just saying that to pump his adrenaline even further? While Manabu was in a daze, Kazuki, being his devious self, brought up his knee in between Manabu’s leg until he reached Manabu’s most sensitive part. He heard Manabu gasp in a restrained voice and saw that his face was in complete astonishment. But Kazuki didn’t care. He impulsively rubbed his knee against Manabu’s erection several times hoping to elicit a response.

“Ugh… Kazuki…” Manabu moaned at the intense sensation as his chest rose and fell rapidly. “Kazuki… Kazuki… Stop it… Stop it...”

Kazuki enjoyed hearing this sound. God… He almost didn’t care they were outside. He wanted to lie down on the ground and see Manabu’s entire bare body. He wanted to rip off his own clothes so that Manabu could see his as well. God, he didn’t just want to make out with Manabu... As vulgar and lustful he sounded, he wanted to touch the inside of Manabu… He seriously wanted to fuck him.

Manabu irregularly breathed in and out trying to not to succumb to such temptations. He could barely think choking on all of his words. This feeling was odd and incomprehensibly strange, but Manabu liked this heightened euphoria he received. Even though he would probably shoot himself from saying such things in a normal state of mind, Manabu definitely didn’t mind right now… since he wasn’t in his normal state of mind. Goddamn. If that was the case, he had to stop. As his urge grew stronger, he knew he had to stop Kazuki, but how could he? He couldn’t really resist Kazuki’s sexual advancements…

Kazuki took his knee away deciding what he should do next. Suddenly, a light bulb lit up in his mind. Could he do it? He had never done this with someone else before. He wanted to experience the same euphoria as Manabu. He wanted to receive a rush of pleasure from the person he loved with all of his heart.

When Kazuki stopped, Manabu took this moment to catch his breath. God… that feeling… that erotic feeling… He felt himself heavily breathing in and out. Could he handle much more of this?

Suddenly, Kazuki purposely rubbed his clothed erection against Manabu’s but with much more force as if pushing his own erection into Manabu’s. He hoped he could hear Manabu’s voice echo out in pleasure. God… he didn’t know he would feel so much excitement and thrill as well. He might have been losing it, but he didn’t care. He wished for more of this sinful pleasure.

Manabu’s breathing grew erratic and almost uncontrollable. Shit! He squeezed his eyes together unable to register the painful yet pleasing feeling. God… why was Kazuki doing this to him? Damn. He was going to release from his erection if Kazuki’s wouldn’t stop. Damn. That would be mortally embarrassing especially since he and Kazuki were still clothed.

“Ugh… Kazuki… Kazuki…” Manabu moaned louder this time as he called out Kazuki’s name.

He gripped onto Kazuki’s strong arms as he continued pushing into Manabu. Manabu restrained his erection from releasing. Damn! They weren’t even naked and he was already reaching his high peak. Gah, what was he saying? He was starting to think like Kazuki.

Kazuki was overjoyed hearing Manabu’s voice growing louder. It raised his sex drive to go even higher. His insides received such immense gratification, but they pleaded for more. Ah, damn. He wished he could hear Manabu cry out in pleasure. Fuck it. He seriously wanted to fuck Manabu regardless of where they were.

Kazuki sneakily reached up for Manabu’s waistband since he wanted to hastily take it off. He wanted to reach to his heightened state and show Manabu how much he loved him. Kazuki violently tugged on Manabu’s pants foolishly hoping it would rip. Manabu was startled by the touch and yanked on Kazuki’s hair breaking the euphoric spell.

“Ahh!” Kazuki cried out. “Manabu-kun, what was that for?”

“This is… very… very inappropriate, Kazuki…” Manabu paused forcing himself not to say ‘senpai’, but it was strange. Why would Kazuki impose dropping the honorific?

“What’s so inappropriate about it?” Kazuki missed Manabu’s implication only thinking about wanting more.

“This is supposed to only happen to married couples, you idiot. And we’re not even dating. So please get off!” Manabu bluntly told him. “Or else I’ll rip out all of your hair.”

“Ooo, you can rip all of my hair out?” Kazuki seemed to be challenging him.

“Please, Kazuki, get off of me.” Manabu politely asked him.

Kazuki was surprised Manabu finally addressed him without using the ‘senpai’ honorific with no hesitation. Was this a step closer in their relationship?

Ah, darn. He couldn’t continue! Hmm. Oh! Manabu would be coming to his house this weekend. Maybe he could continue it there. Hehe. “Okay, but only because you finally learned how to really say my name.”

Kazuki quickly placed a chaste kiss on Manabu’s cheek and finally got off of him.

Manabu hastily straightened out his clothes while buttoning up his shirt. Damn. They nearly got to… that stage. But they weren’t even dating. They were technically friends. Kazuki hadn’t even asked him out. Gah, why was everything going out of order?

Come to think of it, he already received his first kiss from Kazuki… and they were friends at that point. Goddamn! Everything he did with Kazuki went against his moral principles, dammit. Why was he breaking everything he ever knew out the window when he spent time with Kazuki?

He shook his head growing embarrassed thinking about it and unruffled his hair. Damn. He must have looked like as if he had just woken up.

“You know you’re still coming to my house on Friday evening?” Kazuki reminded him.

“What? I don’t-” Manabu was about to go against the idea.

“Unless you want me to continue where I left off right now!” Kazuki threatened him inching closer.

“Ah, shut up! And stay away!” Manabu commanded. “God.”

He would have to go to Kazuki’s house this weekend. He hoped nothing of this nature would transpire! For if that did happen again, he might not be able stop Kazuki next time… because he secretly desired for that sexual sensation as well. But there was no telling what would happen. Kazuki was adventurous and sporadic.

When Manabu headed back to his dorm room, Kazuki persistently tagged along with him. They chattered, laughed, and made teasing jokes to each other. Kazuki even tickled Manabu at one point. He couldn’t help himself from touching Manabu. He was too beautiful to resist. Manabu didn’t mind Kazuki’s fingers on him even though he said otherwise. For once in his life, someone made him feel glad to be alive and excited for tomorrow to come.

To any stranger, they seemed like a normal couple coming back home from a wonderful date.

“Ah, okay. Stop being so childish.” Manabu pointed his finger up in Kazuki’s face signaling him to stop as they reached the door to his dorm room.

At that very moment, Mizuki opened the door from inside the dorm room and saw Kazuki and Manabu standing outside.

Mizuki wasn’t sure how to react to the situation presented before him. He might have shoved Kazuki aside, but Manabu seemed to be closely interacting with him. Did something happen between the two of them…?

They both turned around to find Mizuki staring at them with a blank expression.

Kazuki cleared his throat to relieve the awkwardness. He supposed he should get going before Mizuki insinuated a fight with him. The last thing he wanted was Mizuki to spoil his jolly, good mood. “I guess I better get going. I’ll see you tomorrow, Bubu.”

“What?! Did you just call me-” Manabu didn’t like the fact Kazuki took liberty on nicknaming him.

“Bye! Bye!” Kazuki waved his hand and merrily skipped along before Manabu finished his sentence.

Mizuki sorrowfully watched Manabu study Kazuki’s back. Why did he feel… he was losing some battle even though he hardly fought in it at all?

XOXOXOXO

Kazuki rode home with the chauffer thinking about what transpired at school. Hehe! He chuckled to himself thinking about what happened. He was probably the happiest man alive right now. Deep down inside, he knew Manabu enjoyed those erotic, sexual feelings. Oh, boy… He couldn’t wait to unleash it soon.

When he arrived home, he quickly got out of the car and slammed the door behind him. He softly hummed to himself. He was on Cloud Nine right now. And he wanted to be on it forever. The thought of this weekend excited him!

As he entered the house, he headed for the stairs. He should probably start planning for this weekend. Ah, well… He actually already started. He would definitely have to take Manabu out to eat… Oh! And his house had a wonderful pool and jacuzzi… Hmm, maybe they should do those at night. Ack! How could he forget? He definitely would have to ask Manabu to be his boyfriend…

“Kazuki-nii-san?” a familiar, gentle voice interrupted his conversation.

He turned around finding Rui standing behind him. He expected to see Maru, but she wasn’t anywhere in sight.

“Rui? What are you doing? Aren’t you supposed to be doing your homework and studying?” Kazuki’s thoughts immediately drifted away from those happy feelings.

“I’m already done with my schoolwork.” Rui innocently told him.

Kazuki sighed. Damn. What was he going to do with his brother?

“Kazuki-nii-san… what happened to your face?” Rui noticed the bruises decorating his brother’s face.

“Rui… You should be in your room-”

“Why? Why can’t we ever spend time together?” Rui posed the question to him.

The words tugged at his heart. Why? Because… he never wanted to Rui to become anything like him. He never wanted to influence his innocent little brother. Besides, he was sure their father would like it better if he never hung out with Rui. Damn. The fact their father treated Rui better… But Rui himself was innocent. He didn’t even understand what was going on half the time. Why should he blame Rui?

“Why is it that Kenzo acts more like a brother to me? It’s as if Kenzo and I are more blood related than you and I.” Rui surprisingly brought up.

Rui had to provoke a response from his older brother. He couldn’t understand why… why Kazuki avoided him like the plague. What did he ever do to get Kazuki upset at him? He tried numerous to understand his older brother. Was that wrong to do?

Kazuki wished he had a happy lie he could spew out of his mouth, but he could never forgive himself if he broke Rui’s precious, fragile emotions.

“It seems I only know about you through the things Kenzo tells me: the way you fight, the people you meet, the person you’re dating is Manabu-san-” Rui began to blurt out everything he knew.

“What?” Kazuki cut him off. “Kenzo told you I was seeing someone?”

“How come it has to be Kenzo? Why couldn’t you have told me?” Rui was finally getting somewhere with his older brother.

“Rui, what else did he tell you?” Kazuki had to interrogate him for answers.

Shit! If their father ever found out that Rui knew all of these things… he would be dead! Dead meat! Rui wasn’t supposed to know these kinds of matters! Fuck, Kenzo! Dammit!

“Everything. Everything!” Rui hollered as the sounds bounced off the hollow walls. He disliked why his brother would do this to him. “Your outings, your dates, and those books you read!”

Kazuki’s eyes widened as he raised his voice. “Kenzo told you I read those books?”

It was advanced philosophy, economics, history… and anything else that piqued his interest. He read those books because he was interested in what other people’s thoughts and fascinating ideas. It was a hard, critical, and cruel analysis of the subject. For Rui to know he read those things… It was a part of himself he didn’t want Rui to know. Damn!

Rui’s heart beat faster deathly scared of Kazuki’s voice. Oh, no. Did he get Kenzo in trouble by revealing too much information? That wasn’t his intention. Oh, crap! What was Kazuki going to do? He had to defend Kenzo! He didn’t want Kenzo to leave his side!

“W-wait! Kazuki-nii-san!” Rui called out, but Kazuki already dragged him along.

Kazuki wouldn’t settle down until this matter was set straight. He couldn’t let it go. How could…? Fuck. He remembered ordering Kenzo specifically not to tell Rui of the books he read. He could jab about anything else except those fucking books. Dammit.

Kenzo was in the mansion’s library peering through some old records. He was searching up some old data entry usually done by the clerk that kept track of their drug records. Damn… where was the record for six months ago?

Kenzo suddenly heard the door slam open and swiftly shoved the book he held in his hand away from plain sight. He calmly turned around discovering Kazuki and Rui at the doorway. Oh, no… Judging from the countenance on Rui’s face, he was expecting the worst from his master.

“Kenzo! I thought I told you specifically not to tell Rui about… about… those outings and those books.” Kazuki calmly told him although his boiling blood was feeling otherwise.

Oh… shit. This was what he got for being stupid and in love. What was he going to do now?

“Kazuki-nii-san, it’s not like that! I begged Kenzo to tell me and not to tell you that he told me.” Rui intervened in the middle of the heated situation.

Kazuki had never seen Rui become so bold. In fact, from the years he observed Rui, he was never the one to take the initiative. Oh, no… Was he changing? For better? For worse? The questions looped through Kazuki’s mind. “Rui, it’s-”

“I made him tell me how you fight so awesome punching down those bad guys and-” Rui became excited recounting the story.

No. Rui wasn’t supposed to be like this. He wasn’t supposed to be attracted to fighting. He had to stop his little brother.

Kazuki abruptly interrupted his sentence. “Rui, it’s not fun and games. You should be more focused about school and going to college.”

No… Even though he had mixed feelings for Rui, he never wanted Rui to become anything like him. Rui was innocent and deserved a better life than the life of a tainted mafia.

“Why? Why can’t I know about you? You’re smart, act cool, and even look awesome! That’s why I got these piercings.” Rui proudly showed them off.

The sight frightened Kazuki only because Rui copied his same exact style! Why was Rui doing this to himself?

“Rui, you know dad’s super pissed that you got those!” Kazuki pointed at him. “And well… You look like a gangster, Rui! You’re supposed to be focusing on your studies-”

Why couldn’t Kazuki see that he wanted to be exactly like him?

“Kazuki-nii-san, I want to be just like you!” Rui unexpectedly shouted as if almost pleading him.

Kazuki froze hearing Rui’s words. In fact, it echoed in his mind. Why? Why would Rui want to be anything like him? He was some lonely guy surrounded by a bunch of ugly, nasty people and had no real friends. No one liked him… No one cared about him. No one would probably even notice if he was gone from this planet.

“No, you don’t, Rui. You never want to be like me.” Kazuki stated in a melancholy tone as he gazed at Rui with sorrowful eyes.

Rui was puzzled by Kazuki’s words. “What do-”

“If anything, I would want your life, Rui. I would do anything to have yours instead of mine.” Kazuki spoke in a somber tone.

Why… why was he experiencing such painful aches in his heart? Like someone defeated him in a battle? No, he knew why. Rui had touched a soft part of him. Regardless of how much he cared about Rui, he never wished to see his naïve, innocent brother become like him. Throughout his whole lifetime, he yearned to possess the cheerful life Rui had. He would give everything up in a heartbeat for it.

“Kazuki-nii-san, I-”

Kazuki turned his back toward Rui and headed toward the exit. Why were humans always wishing to obtain the impossible? Was it because humans were ambitious… or plain idiots? Whatever the case, this incident showed that somewhere inside of his cold heart, he was part human. He was a foolish human who desired for more than he could get.

Kenzo painfully watched Kazuki and Rui grow in distance. They had so much potential to be real brothers and yet… there were only drifting further and further apart. He wished he had the power to change this situation.

“Kenzo, how come Kazuki-nii-san hates me?” Rui continued to stare at Kazuki’s back who was eventually faded away into the darkness.

Kenzo sighed wishing he had an answer for Rui. It wasn’t as simple as white and black. There were too many gray areas in Kazuki’s mind that even Kenzo didn’t have the answer to it.

XOXOXOXO

The rest of the week panned out in the same manner as Monday. Stupid pranks kept on getting in the way of Manabu’s day. He didn’t know why. It wasn’t scary, but the fact was… someone was out to get him. But why? What did he do wrong? Why didn’t that person come out of the shadows? The questions boggled his mind.

In the middle of the week, Manabu remembered he would have to see Tora after school. He didn’t dread it, but he wasn’t looking forward to it.

When he arrived to Tora’s office, he found Tora on his computer typing in a Word Document. Manabu wondered what he was typing up. Was it some kind of report to the school or what…? He knocked on the door to get his attention.

“Oh!” Tora immediately changed the screen to a generic desktop. “Come. Come inside! Close the door behind you, please.”

Manabu shut the door behind him as he entered the office. He took a seat on one of the cushioned chairs across from Tora.

“So! How has your week been so far?” Tora casually inquired.

“Fine.”

Geez, why did Manabu have to give one word answers? It made the conversation very difficult to continue…

Tora asked Manabu various questions about his life before college specifically about the bullying. Manabu didn’t understand why Tora was fascinated, but he didn’t feed into Tora’s interest. He kept his answers short. Tora was disappointed as to why Manabu wouldn’t open up to him! Gah, earning Manabu’s trust was going to be slightly more difficult than he expected.

“You were pretty tough to survive all of that.” Tora genuinely complimented him.

If it were him, he might have fought back and become a real delinquent eventually leading to the life of a disgusting criminal. If Tora traded spots with Manabu, he would have despised those stupid kids with a passion and done something. But Manabu was able to become stronger person than he imagined. He didn’t resort to violence and took it all in.

“Yeah, right. People like you are always the toughest. You would have probably fought back.” Manabu commented without thinking about his words.

Tora wryly smiled. He couldn’t help, but chuckle to himself. How ironic Manabu’s statement was. He wouldn’t expect to know any better since he was still young, but most people carried Manabu’s same train of thought.

“People like us may look the toughest, but in reality, we are much weaker than people like you.” Tora philosophically said.

Manabu gazed at Tora’s mysterious eyes. For a man who was such a jokester, he possessed such complicated, serious thoughts. Could it be that there was another person lying underneath Tora’s jolly façade?

“Goodness, Manabu-san, you’ve got to tell me something. Don’t be like my wife and only have four words per question.” Tora changed the subject due to the awkward silence. Without even realizing, he let the fact that he was married slip out of his mouth.

Manabu blinked his eyes at Tora’s words. Tora was married to someone? Manabu never expected that coming.

“You’re married?” Manabu repeated his thoughts out loud.

Oh. Shit. Did he just say that?

“Uh… yeah, yeah. I am. We’ve been married for a couple of years. Happily married. Hehe. Hehe.” Tora tensely laughed.

“Why don’t you have a picture of her?” Manabu curiously asked him.

“Uh… well… Um… She doesn’t like me showing pictures of her to other people.” Tora quickly made up some excuse.

“Or is it the other way around?” Manabu crossed his arms and stared at Tora skeptically.

Goddammit! How could Manabu read him so well? Maybe their brother bond was in play… Dammit! How come the bond was working in Manabu’s favor and not his? Gaaahh! Dammmit! Damn, God for not favoring him!

“Haha! Anyway, it was great seeing you, Manabu-san! I look forward to seeing you next week!” Tora switched the subject and shoved Manabu outside of his office.

“What? Wait, I’m not done asking you yet!” Manabu was about to dash back inside.

“Bye bye!” Tora shouted and shut the door right before Manabu inched another step closer.

Manabu frowned. Tora was hiding something about his wife. He had to find out what it was. If Tora was going to question him and interrogate him about his life, the least Manabu could do was to reciprocate those actions. Also, he was curious as to why Tora cared so much about him… There was much investigation to be done on Tora.

XOXOXOXO

Kazuki lingered around in the school’s cafeteria. He was going to tag along with Manabu, but Manabu said he had a mandatory meeting with Tora. Kazuki didn’t want to leave Manabu’s side and insisted that he didn’t have to go see Tora. In fact, he could make that possible. But Manabu refused Kazuki’s help and headed to Tora’s office. Before Manabu left, he told Kazuki he should stop abusing his powers and stop bending the rules to his will.

He didn’t understand Manabu. It was his power. How was he abusing it? He had always used it for his will and everyone listened to him. Kazuki pouted deeply pondering on the matter. Dammit. Why was his head hurting? Was he thinking too much about Manabu’s words?

“Kazuki-chan.” Uruha tapped his shoulder.

“Hey.” Kazuki broke out of his trance.

He had been waiting for Uruha. He had actually been planning to speak to Uruha for some time.

“I’m sorry for not hanging out with you. I’ve been busy with official business,” Uruha quickly apologized as he took a seat across from Kazuki. “How have you been this week?”

Kazuki noticed Uruha holding a cup of coffee in his hands with purple bags under his eyes. Usually, no matter how busy Uruha was, he never resorted to drinking coffee. He usually drank tea. And even though Kazuki couldn’t see exactly what was inside of Uruha’s cup only because he caught a whiff of that coffee aroma seeping out from the cup.

“Hey, Uruha, I knew you used to be the king of pranks in high school. But I don’t like how it’s being used to target certain people.” Kazuki cut to the chase without answering Uruha’s cordial question.

Uruha was surprised how Kazuki could start out the conversation on such a sour note. He never did this with him. Damn. It must have been that brute, Manabu.

“What are you talking about, Kazuki-chan?” Uruha sipped on his coffee playing the innocent fool.

“You know what I’m talking about.” Kazuki’s voice was dead serious. “No playing cute about it.”

There was no funniness or teasing tone in his voice. He sounded absolutely solemn about the matter. Was this incompetent Manabu that important to Kazuki?

“If you mess around with Manabu anymore, then I won’t forgive you.” Kazuki glared at Uruha with those handsome eyes of his.

Uruha couldn’t believe Kazuki was doing this to him! Only other lowly mafias who Kazuki didn’t like received such a horrifying expression. Why was he getting it from Kazuki? He couldn’t believe this!! What spell did Manabu place upon Kazuki to bewitch him
beyond belief?

“Kazuki-chan, what are you-” Uruha proceeded to play dumb.

“Goodbye, Uruha.” Kazuki abruptly scooted out his chair and left the table leaving Uruha alone.

Uruha clenched his fists as he tightened his lips. How could Kazuki act as if their years of friendship meant nothing? What the hell did this Manabu do to him? Hmm! He would get revenge on this freshman for making Kazuki change!

XOXOXOXO

Kazuki had never scolded at Uruha. It was the first time in his entire. Damn. But… he couldn’t let Uruha hurt Manabu. Manabu was precious to him. He loved Manabu. He loved him more than he imagined. Even if his friend Uruha tried to hurt him, he wouldn’t hesitate to wrap Manabu in his arms and protect him.

Kazuki spotted Manabu leaving the Academic Advisor hallway. He quickly ran over toward Manabu and tackled him to the ground.

“Mana-chan!” Kazuki called out his name.

“Ahh! What the hell, Kazuki?” Manabu raised his voice not expecting Kazuki to find him so soon.

Kazuki smothered Manabu with kisses on his face rendering Manabu useless to fight against it.

“H-hey! Kazuki! Stop it!” Manabu shoved Kazuki’s face out of his own.

“Bwut whie Mwana-chan?” Kazuki spoke even though Manabu partially covered his lips. “Ywu don’t like moi warm greetwings?”

“Kazuki, only couples greet each other like that.” Manabu stated without staring directly at Kazuki’s face.

In fact, Manabu was gazing at Kazuki’s neck. The skin on his neck seemed so smooth. Ah, shit. What was he thinking? Kazuki’s perverted-ness must have infected his mind. Kazuki and he weren’t lovers. They were merely friends. He had to stop getting it in his head that Kazuki had warm feelings for him. Kazuki must have been playing him since he knew he was handsome and anyone would die for him.

“Could you please get off?” Manabu shifted his eyes upward.

“Okay… but can we go eat some ice cream?” Kazuki widely grinned like a little child.

Manabu rolled his eyes. “Fine.”

“Yay! Ice cream with Mana-chan!” Kazuki exclaimed as he happily got off of him.

From the far distance, Mizuki secretly watched Manabu and Kazuki interact so cuddly. If he didn’t know any better, he would have thought Kazuki was molesting Manabu. But that wasn’t the case. The happy glow in Manabu’s eyes… It couldn’t have been anything else except for elation. Mizuki knew something was going on between the two of them. To think that they liked each other…

Mizuki decided to let it be and turned his back away from the scene. Even though he tried his best to be a part of Manabu’s life, Manabu still chose Kazuki. Maybe it was time for him to admit defeat and move on…?

As he headed away from the scenery, he was lost in his own thoughts about depressing matters. The scene of Kazuki tackling Manabu replayed in his mind numerous of times. He was ultimately saddened how Kazuki could be so close to Manabu. These same thoughts circled around in his mind until he bumped into someone much taller than him.

“Oh, sorry, sir.” Mizuki politely apologized pushing the blame onto himself.

He thought it was a student until he noticed an older man a bit taller than him. He wore a black suit and a ring with a glaring, obnoxious ruby stoned carved into it. He carried the essence of upper-class and rich. But he didn’t appear old or young. Who was he? And what was he doing here?

The man kindly flashed a smile at Mizuki. Ah, yes… This was his missing son. The son who was supposed to be the real heir of the Red Blood mafia. His heart leaped with immense joy. He was going to approach him and get down to matters, but he figured Mizuki might have been too sheltered.

“It’s alright, son.” the man humbly apologized to him. “If you’ll excuse me.”

Mizuki watched the middle-aged man face the other way and stroll down the hallway. Who was that strange guy wandering around in their school?
