So the goal is to guess what my favorite song is by each of the 20 following artists. Aaaaaannnnd....GO!
Ok, I wasn't trying to make this obscure, but I the people on my friends list just don't know most of these artists' songs. So the cry for hints is answered. And I'm gonna make em really obvious for some of 'em, just because you need the help. Losers.
The Strokes - (hint) You remember those old Hott Lixx toy guitars? Man, those things were so awesome!
The Shins - (hint) Smooching chickens
Weezer - (hint) Not on a standard album, but it is on the 'Flip Sides and Acoustics' bonus CD that came with the DVD release of the Blue Album. It's also a huge fan favorite, far more so than any other non-album track.
Beck - (hint) Cold Brains. That's the title. I can't think of a good clue. So the first person to say "Cold Brains" gets credit.
Radiohead - (hint) Data on pot.
The Arcade Fire - (hint) It has two titles, a normal one and a parenthetical one, and it does not contain the word 'Neighborhood.'
David Bowie - (hint) He played it left hand, with God given ass.
Death Cab for Cutie - (hint) The name of the song isn't really accurate.
Bjork - (hint) A single female
Flaming Lips - (hint) You'll have to think of it for me.
Pixies - (hint) One who devalues.
Guided By Voices - (hint) But I'm losin' sight of the clues for which I search and choose to abuse
The Velvet Underground - (hint) Deadly enemy to Sour Joe.
Modest Mouse - (hint) A common travellers drug.
Beastie Boys - (hint) It sounds nothing like a traditional Beastie Boys song, is on Hello Nasty, can be found about 2/3 of the way in to the album, has a three word title, and is precisely 3 minutes long.
Belle and Sebastian - (hint) On The Boy with the Arab Strap.
Interpol - (hint) On Turn on the Bright Lights. The first of two challenges.
The Kinks - (hint) - When I saw Beck live at Coachella last year, he played a cover of this song.
Led Zepplin - (hint) da da dadaDAda da da dadaDAda da da dadaDAda da da dadaDAda aaahhAAAAAaaaaaAAAAH! aaahhAAAAAaaaaaAAAAH!
The White Stripes - (hint) Sung from the perspective of a child, taking place during the beginning of the school year.
